Did test on Monday, till now no update from IOM cry
Unless you asked for it, they won't update you. They'll just send the result directly to IRCC, what you should be looking out for is "Medicals passed" on your application. For me, IRCC didn't even send me mail when my Medicals passed, I just logged in and saw it. So have faith, it'll come soon : )

All thanks to Allah (SWT) which of His blessings will I deny? Walohi none. And also a big salute to my very own guru @makano that man was there for me from the begging to the end, he rendered a complete service, he even went above and beyond what was expected, he made sure every document was well placed before submission. To all those awaiting a decision from IRCC on their applications, I wish you all the best of luck.

First application was submitted 2/11/2022 and was denied two weeks later

Second application 18/03/2023

Bvl and Upfront medical passed 29/03/2023

Ppr. 06/04/2023.

@makano thanks for your service.

They will, it is an international transaction that will go through settlement across different countries and time zones, please whatever you do, do not touch the funds in the card or else IRCC might not receive their money and you know that will be a serious issue.
Thanks so much but today made it two days that i make the payment

Thestarbear:
I've received my stamped passport so I'm going to post my timeline and documents i submitted below. First time applicant.

Application submitted: December 3rd 2022
Biometrics: December 13th 2022
Medical request: February 15th 2023
The day I did Medicals: March 3rd 2023
Passed Medicals: March 8th 2023
PPR: March 14th 2023
Submitted passport: March 23rd 2023
Passport ready: April 3rd 2023
(I would have gotten it earlier if I did not waste time to do some things like Biometrics and Medicals, my advice is that if you want your PPR earlier, when they send you request to do Biometrics or Medicals, go ASAP)

Documents submitted (I didn't submit more than required) I am self sponsored, I did everything myself aside from the LOE/SOP that my brother and I did together
All the required forms
International passport Scan (no travel history)
Passport photograph of myself (Canada standard)
Letter of Acceptance with receipt of first semester paid (around 8000 CAD)
Detailed Letter of Explanation/Statement of Purpose with my resume/CV attached.
(My advice for your LOE is to make sure you mention you are coming back to Nigeria. Don't just imply you are coming back. Put that "when I get back to Nigeria etc" even if it's a lie. The Visa officer needs to know that you are going to come back. And I saw on one YouTube video during my research not to hype canada up too much, don't say something like "Canada is a great country, great employment opportunities etc" because the visa officers already know that. All they are hearing is that "Canada is good and you will not be coming back to Nigeria." What I did was that I said I was going to Canada to LEARN and I stated I will be coming back to Nigeria. I mentioned my family as home ties, put as many home ties as you can. I did not submit any photo of my family or birth certificate or any of that)

Proof of funds: Around 16m (it's only me going)
I submitted both my domiciliary account and naira account bank statement of four months for both. I put the receipt of tuition paid, along with the contracts from companies I've worked with and the payslips from when the paid me. The payslips showed tax deduction so I did not get tax clearance certificate.

I didn't do police clearance

You don't need agent to do anything, you can do everything yourself. Just make sure you get someone you trust to go over your LOE and POF to make sure you're putting the right thing. These two things I think are what really make your application strong. I took a whole month to write and edit that LOE and even the POF just so I could make sure I did everything right.

Arrange everything like it's a story, just imagine you're a visa officer going through hundreds of application, you don't have time to waste, so don't waste the VO's time either. Arrange it well, put everything in order, make sure you explain everything in detail. Explain any lump sum, explain anything that will make the visa officer stop and ask why.

I don't know about other people but not only did I put bank statements, payslips etc in my POF, I started explaining anything money related, I used a whole page to talk about where the money came from, how company paid me and so on.
Then I used the LOE/SOP to only talk about myself, why and what I want to study in Canada and home ties. I thought this would help someone, you can use your POF as kind of a LOE regarding money incase you don't have space in ur LOE, but be careful you're not putting a whole essay inside your POF, no beat around the bush, save the main talk for your LOE/SOP.

Another thing a YouTube video mentioned is that anything you say in your LOE/SOP cannot be unsaid so BE CAREFUL. Don't write one made up story, if they reject you and you try and take back what you said or change it, it will not help your case. Be very very careful you are telling the truth or at least, you are not telling a lie.

Nairaland truly helped me when I was applying, i was on it the whole day researching and i owe this forum a lot so thats why im saying all this. Do you research, pray and everything will be okay!
Sorry if my thing is scattered but I hope you guys get my point : ) goodluck to everyone!

Old or new portal?

Congratulations bro

Good day house!
Please has anyone used GT bank for form A application before ? Heard there won’t be any changes until they are ready to debit. I don’t know how true this is . ( applied for form A on the 8th of last month there’s no changes still at ADB_reviewer. ) Had to generate another invoice on the 26th on last month and applied for another form A. Up till now there’s no changes but when I heard GTB won’t make any changes until they are ready to debit that’s what’s making me worried so they won’t debit me twice.
Please if anyone know about this kindly respond . Thanks!.

Hello, I used GT and applied early march too. There has been no changes on the online portal too. Still ADB reviewer
You do not have to generate another invoice if it's CIBC.

God is good!!!! I recently got my passport back. I applied to University of Guelph last year,1st of November 2022 for Fall 2023. I got my admission on the 31st of January,2023. I was contemplating whether I should use an agent or not. I asked few friends that travelled already and most said I could do it myself. With the help of my family and loved ones, I became positive and started studying people's testimonies on here since November. I literally go page by page and gather each person's documents and what they submitted till the day I was ready to submit mine (I used the old portal, https://clegc-gckey.gc.ca/j/eng/rg?execution=e1s1 ). I did my upfront medicals on the 22nd of February because of the presidential election which happened on the 25th February .I gathered my documents and submitted them on the 24th of February . I couldn't upload my medical slip yet because I didn't get a reply from the hospital yet. so I submitted my documents nonetheless .I did my biometrics on the 27th of February, scheduled it on VFS portal (https://visa.vfsglobal.com/nga/en/can ) for 27th February. I emailed IOM Abuja on the 2nd of March to ask if my medical was successful and submitted and I got a reply confirming submission of my medicals. I waited till a week to see if it'll be uploaded on my portal, but nothing. So on 10th I sent a web form ( https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=Lagos ) uploaded the medical slip given to me at IOM medical office and filled my details. On 13th March, It showed medical passed. On 20th March, I got my passport request. I submitted my passport and a copy of the printed passport request letter to the VFS office in Abuja on 28th March. Also went with the biometrics slip given to me on my photocopy page, that was what I used to collect my passport back. On the 1st of April , got an email to pick up my passport and I went on the 3rd of April . First time trial. Tired of Nigeria already but got to wait till August sadly. Book your flight early, the prices of flights keep increasing daily but I thank God for everything. I used my Parents as sponsors and my brother who stays outside the country as a Co-sponsor.

Hi I'd be applying for my visa soon and i watched a YouTube video that said that my sponsor can be my sister and if she has a done a change of name then I will have to provide documents for that.

My sister is my sponsor and she is not married but she has a different surname from mine. Like she is answering our grandfather's name while I'm answering my father's name.

My question is, would i have to show any documents to prove that she's my sister. The different surnames is showing on our birthday certificates

Please help!!

Wow guys it's been a long while.
I don't know if my moniker is still popular here. I got a lot of information here on nairaland and also shared my little experience to newbies here.

This is my first post since January. I arrived Canada December last year, almost done with first semester to the glory of God.

I will answer any japa related questions to the best of knowledge the little while I will be spending here.

If there's anyone in canada, toronto precisely for summer intake, there's a room available in a 2bedroom basement, it's very close to centennial College progress campus.

Best wishes to everyone!
