i know exactly how you're feeling, you are not alone in having feelings of regret after this decision. it's a very tough spot to be in, and no matter which way you choose, there is no good answer. you and i chose the same route, and i also experienced regret for years after. here is what i eventually came to: the child-that-could-have-been (since it was too early for it really to be a child yet) did not cease to be in vain. I decided that the only way for me to move on was to make the most of my life and my opportunities, to never settle for a bad relationship, to never give up on my studies or my jobs. the only way for that decision to be meaningful is if i did not waste away in regret, but instead, if i moved forward. it's been about 5years since i came to that realization (a realization i came to about 2 or 3 years after the abortion). it's been hard at times, but knowing that every day that is spent in a positive way,every day spent moving me forward in my career, personal goals, and relationships, gives meaning and importance to the loss i suffered back then. it gives the death of the child-that-might-have-been meaning, something that has helped a whole lot.

It’s not about feelings it’s logic. She’s not married to this man, he can decide to run away when she’s 8 months pregnant.. what security/assurance does she have from him? Pregnancy /child bearing.. the burden will always fall back on the mother. Is the fiancé financially stable? Africans believe in giving birth to 4 kids that they cannot take care of, that’s why most families are stuck in generational poverty. You see all these single mothers that you see carrying their child from one place to another? It’s usually one guy that sold them a dream with words and nothing more, and ran away. Before you carry a child to term for any man, make sure you are married, financially stable with good prospects, if not the chances of you suffering is high.

God doesn’t make mistakes.. He knew I needed this child in my life because Apart from my Fiancé nobody cares about me and then he gave me this beautiful creature to love me and care for me and I had the nerve to discard it like a piece of thrash … Ahhhhh Lord have mercy on me !!

The painful part is I don’t even know if the abortion was successful cause the blood I saw wasn’t what the quack nurse that did it for me said!! Now I’m on a cross road whether the abortion was complete or whether I’m still expecting a damaged and disfigured child!!

you have enough money to go to a teaching hospital or a good private hospital, don't you? At least find a teaching hospital. You may find some people walking around saying they can do it cheaper for you. Don't listen to them, just do what you are doing with the hospital staffs, let the staffs and doctors do it for you. They may really be an infection, a serious one.
About this hopelessness, please tell us about it, we want to know.

Why didn't she ask for marriage when the man said that he would accept the pregnancy? Have you asked her to know that the man actually didn't ask her to marry him?
Life itself is a risk. Those who got pregnant with no man taking responsibility even sometimes decided to keep it but you're here making a weak defence for a woman whose man was even ready to take the responsibility.

Blaming yourself at this stage will benefit you nothing. What is important at this point in time is your safety. I suggest you go for a scan to determine if the abortion was complete or not... Consult a doctor to determine the next step which could be an evacuation. Try to avoid quacks for reproductive health is life. Cheers.

Go see a gyne if the blood wasn't much, possibly it's still there. Happened to someone i know. She ended up having a baby with Leg defect. Go see a doc now. You will surely get over it.

I feel your pain. I suggest you go for a retest to know if the abortion was successful. Forgive yourself, God will always forgive you.. however no sin will ever be unpunished. Some women have only a child in thier entire life, it's the way they were born while some produce many children. It depends on where your own destiny lies.
I nearly aborted my own child, but a woman chased me back. In my case, I had five children, so the sixth was a hell no. This unwanted child later turned out to be the most admirable of all my children. Who knows what he will be tomorrow? He is so outstanding, it's clear to me God's ways are not man's. You should have listened to your fiance..an okada rider told me how he cursed his girlfriend who wanted to abort his child, telling her she will die in d process, out of fear she didn't go further..they latergot married, it's so shocking how that boy is thier only progeny today. He is in Delsu about to graduate. But that may not be your case. We are all different. For the fact you are remorseful, you have won God forgiveness. Pray with psalm 51, visit a Catholic priest for a confession. You will be fine.

the ones who chose to be single mothers always end up suffering in life and it’s also men like you that will still Shame them and refuse to marry them. So when there’s an option for abortion, many women will take that option. She knows why she had that abortion, if that man was very serious from the jump, she would’ve been the one looking for ways to trap that man. When a women sees a serious man, ready for family commitment and is financially stable, abortion will never be an option for her especially when she’s of marriageable age.
