I like this if true.

I doubt that inter Milan guy can fit into daga role. Daga made that team what it is. Very smooth player

. I have seen the guy play. Sha I truly wish he fits in. Though I have my doubts. Akin is not really as smooth as daga in midfield control and tackles.

Won 6, lost only twice and drew 7. The numbers look good enough for a guy who came in as consultant to salvage a bad situation. Zanaco went unbeaten for close to 10 games even during this period. The point is that period saw that team climb out of the rubbles and up the table.

But after this 15 games period, a disconnect obviously happened and the slump began. Don't make it sound like he didn't do good in that 15 games period and that things like this don't happen.

jihday:
during the 15 match period they only won 6 games tho. Iโ€™m situations like this itโ€™s always difficult to reach a conclusion but the numbers donโ€™t look good.

Since when did the Super Falcons play this well? Coach Waldrum must've overhauled his tactics.

I watched the game. Echegini is really important in this team. I really like that Echegini. Very attacking minded. Nice outing . Wow oparanozie is good. She brought calmness and organised flow to the attack no wonder she scored that sweet goal. Ayinde playing the left wing is another good thing from the game.

Won nothing in Sudan, sacked by Tanzania now by Zanaco. Winning the under 17 is nothing to bluff about. Lost an under 20 qualifying match in Lagos to Sudan! Abegyy
TheSuperNerd:
You aren't being truthful. I listened to an Amunike interview in the aftermath of that WCQ 2nd leg failure vs Ghana and he laid out some of what he was trying to get across to the players and he termed it "Transition plays" and "constant movement into space" especially from midfield to attack.

So whatever nonsense anyone was complaining about is because they just weren't willing to listen and learn from the man since he wasn't the one in charge but Egu.

Also, Amunike admitted he didn't know of the changes to the First XI for that game. He just knew of it few hrs to Matchday on matchday.

Fact remains he is the only coach of local extraction that knows exactly how to address that SE problem of transition and midfield inefficiency. He knows how to utilise Chukwueze as well in sync with this transition play but nooooooo.... una must agend.

The man remains a world Champion who astounded/dazzled the fifa technical study group with his understanding and interpretation of the game at U17 level. They were stunned at how he effectively applied the DLP principle in sync with a mobile roaming 10 which also saw our wingers be at the end of attacking transitions alongside the main striker.

Fact is Coaches are hired and fired all the time. Even one of my favorite coaches, Julian Nagelsmann got fired from his Bayern job to be replaced by Tuchel. Does it mean he is no longer good?

Pep Guardiola is arguably the only manager who hasn't been fired among the elite coaches. So unless you are Pep, you will be fired and hired.

Playing Tpayne in midfield and Alozie at right back shows the level of Waldrum brilliance!
He got his substitution right today.
Substituting in the right players at the right time has been his Achilles heel but today was different!
Brilliant substitution!

How long did he stay in Sudan?

Took Tanzania to their first ever Afcon in 39 years. Since then, they haven't been back to the Afcon. Also, he remains a point of reference for the coaches of the East African region due to his success with Tanzania in that period.

The U20s loss was due to sabotage from your NFF. The story is well known and well documented. That U20 side was gonna be the most fearsome we had raised in a while. They lost no games in over 20 games or more before that Sudan loss in Lagos. And all thanks to NFF sabotage.

And winning the U17 WC is not for everyone. If it was easy, then John Obuh could have won it.

Winning it also in the manner he did and with a tactical impression that left the respected FIFA Technical Study Group dumbfounded is not for everyone.

Manu Garba would have won it without him and Ugbade again in 2019 naa. Why didn't he pass the round of 16?

Abeg. Amunike remains one of the top choices from the local front to consider for the SE Job.

Nope! He has always being a brilliant coach but getting the puzzle right has been the problem.
Oshoala, Echiejine, Payne, Alozie and Demehin performance today were exceptional.
Onumonu looses a lot of ball in advanced situations distorting the team movement while Oshoala holds and move the ball better in advanced situations bringing the midfielders and wingers into advance positions.
Oshoala and Alozie are the key to this great performance!
Similarly, Oparanozie can hold the ball and Monday has great movement.
We have a solid team and an intelligent coach!

Nigeria has being winning the under 17 before Amuneke started playing football.
So nothing special.
Siasia was sabotaged too yet won Olympic Bronze and Under 20 Silver. Abeggy

And how many times did those wins attract the attention of the FIFA technical study groups? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Amunike's in 2015 was just extra special and on top of it, his team gave us the core of the current Super Eagles in Osimhen, Chukwueze, and potentially K.Nwakali when it finally dawns on the clueless technical crew we have that we need him in our middle game.

Amunike also had a big hand in the 2013 team that gave us Ndidi (wasn't at the WC but the qualifers), Iheanacho, Awoniyi, Uzoho and Success.

Siasia had the benefit of playing 3 group games to make up for any errors. Amunike had one game to qualify us and that game was gravely sabotaged by the NFF. Cannot be overlooked.

Respectfully sir, Randy's decisions have not always been right, like you alluded, a coach who for the past couple of years has been getting subs wrong isn't brilliant. That said, let's give him his flowers for these last games, we won and also won well.

The best place for him in my opinion outside Napoli. Certain of yearly league trophy and at least Champions league semi- final.

The best team in England for him sadly do not require his services.

That is why he brought in the right players and plays them where a mediocre coach or most mediocre analyst/empty barrels on this platform won't have the brilliance of mind to play them there. If Pep has all the puzzle why buy Haaland/ Grealish?
