Then since FCT has the same status with states, they should just say 37 states and not mentioning FCT alone with other states. 5 Likes |
Re: Tinubu Won Presidential Election - INEC Tells Tribunal by Praxtech: 8:27am On Apr 12, 2023 |
xtivin: Hahaha Section 299(1) of the Constitution provides that the provisions of the Constitution shall apply to the Federal Capital Territory as if it were one of the states of the Federation. It means that the FCT is the 37th state. So section 134 of the Constitution which provides that “not less than one-quarter of the votes cast at the election in EACH of at least two-thirds of ALL THE STATES AND the FCT” means 25 states or 24 states plus the FCT. Winning the FCT by a candidate is not compulsory. 5 Likes

INEC supposed to be neutral and provide all the necessary documents that the opposition parties needed. But here it seems like INEC is backing a particular party. May God help our country. 5 Likes |

Praxtech: As a full grown (except you're not), you don't owe anybody an explanation for your choices, but when you start lying abt them, then you know you're gone. you were an Obedient-whatever that is and supporting Obi when Osinbanjo was in the race, come on ain't you too old to lie, at the time Osinbanjo was in d race, half the 'Obedients' were rooting for him, that notwithstanding, you now harass, insult, mock your former team, that's low-even for someone like you. 1 Like |

They have no choice but to say so. The other option is to admit incompetence or complicity in the malpractices that took place. Heads will roll if they don't put up a spirited defense. |

I may not be a lawyer by profession; perhaps, not so vast in constitutional law, but I can say this with common sense- that a voter in Zuba or Maitama is not bigger or valuable than a voter or vote cast in Afon, ASA LGA of Kwara State. Neither is any vote cast in any part of the country more valuable than the other. So to say that every other vote cast in other parts of the country is sub-national or inferior to that of the FCT makes the argument vague and to me, perhaps the constitution, invalid. The constitution sees every vote or voter as the same. This is without prejudice ! I stand to be corrected though! Praxtech: 8 Likes 2 Shares |
