India has medical services for d rich only.D poor have no access to medical care

To be honest ,its partially true .
The southern and western parts of the country ,which are rich states , have Universal health coverage .

India problems like Nigeria is North and Northeast parts ,which are poorer states and have massive population with almost 20 % health access only.

The colonial masters left you long ago but you can't leave them. You run from your independence to their terrain because your homeland is in a mess.
Some deluded Nigerians still blame these Europeans for their own inability to manage their systems.
Them never start block una from offers. Make Tinubu enter, na then you go know the meaning of Ichabod.

I hope your father gave them scholarship that will make them stay behind after graduation? How much does your Government pay these doctors to make them stay behind? What equipment do you have in the hospitals that will attract them to forget foreign jobs? Please restrict only those you trained with your money...!

Canada is difficult to penetrate for Nigeria doctors unless they plan to go there not to practice.

That U.S route is costly for an average Nigerian doctor Na why UK be the saving grace for them.

Don’t mind them. Most of the propagandist. Canada doesn’t need them likewise Australia and USA. Only Saudi and UK.

Interesting that India is not on the list, the PM has Indian ancestry. Very interesting.

You can compare India healtsector with any of the countries banned irrespective of their PM.
India control almost one quarter of the health and IT sector around the world.

Nysc you can choose to opt out and work privately, create a business, leave the country etc without any government interference, only that you aren't allowed to work in government parastatal without your nysc certificate.

This case is different, you are forbidden from practicing medicine anywhere in the world except you serve Nigeria for 5 years
Practising medicine is not compulsory. They are still graduates and can work in any industry
You can become a banker or politician so is not compulsory
You cannot say doctors cannot become governor, senator or president if they don't serve five years
Forbidden from practising medicine anywhere in the world is your interpretation . Have you seen the bill. There are always options You can choose to acquire another country's citizenship and renounce Nigerian citizenship
You can choose not to practise medicine and to study philosophy afterwards. You would get your transcripts even if they seize your degree. After graduating if I decide to do ICAN or an MBA nothing stops me. Lawyers finish law school and don't practise so no biggie.
You can get your transcripts go to another country repeat the final year and get a new degree that is already happening today. You need to define COMPULSORY.
NYSC is compulsory subject to exceptions. That are choice based and restrictive. This would be too .

Your fada should have trained you abroad if you want to work abroad.

If you're trained in Nigeria with this subsidized tuition fee, YOU MUST GIVE BACK TO THE COUNTRY

You can't be trained in Nigeria almost free of charge (because u paid chicken fee as tuition fee compared to Europe) without paying back to the Country, but using that knowledge to benefit European countries.

I share your sentiment. How I wish this can be implemented

Small research you would have done, will tell you that this topic is just clickbait.

Nigeria as been in the Red list before now and yet Uk employers are still recruiting people.

What the red list only means is that Uk cannot advertise jobs in the Red list countries but prospective employees can make a research on a recruiting company and if they deem you fit, they all sponsor you.

YOU ARE CORRECT. LAST MONTH (March,2023) I PERSONALLY HELPED A UK CARE HOME RECRUITED 16 CARE WORKERS AND ALMOST ALL OF THEM HAVE GOTTEN THEIR VISA AS I TYPE.
THE MEANING OF "RED LIST" IS NO DEVELOPED COUNTRY CAN COME TO NAIJA TO DIRECTLY ADVERTISE THAT THEY NEED HEALTH WORKERS. Bros I agree however please don’t use my mention to advertise yourself.

Here is a disclaimer to prospectives that would contact my boss here. I don’t have anything to do with the advert.

Also to anyone who wants to travel to Uk 🇬🇧 through an health care route. If una no fit do research I am telling you guys categorically that you don’t need to pay any agent in Nigeria to land an health care job.

Do your research, get your certifications, volunteer there in Nigeria so as to acquire experience and lastly apply for different roles. With a-lot of effort and prayer you will land the job without paying any dime to anyone.

As far as I am concerned only a single care home I know of is collecting money from applicants under the guise of administrative fee.

Also for better understanding Uk govt just proposed a new bill to support qualified employers who wish to employ candidates from overseas so it’s an offense if anyone is found with this act.

Lastly whatever you do don’t carry gbese enter 🇬🇧 ooo and if you must do make sure say na gbese that the person will not be pestering you over and over again.

Ire ooo

Almost free of charge? I don't know which school you saw that. In my time, people sold land to train in med school which had the highest school fees. So please explain what you mean by almost free of charge. Compare the school fees of Medicine and Surgery to other courses, then come back here to repeat this vomit you said.
By the way, does Nigeria and UK pay the same salaries? So why should their med school fees be the same? You well so?

Oga, the criteria for being on the list is not because a country's health sector is miles ahead of the others, it's meant to be because of brain drain.

I am also genuinely interested in seeing a link to the list as drawn up by the UN as I couldn't find it online.

Oga it's not just about brain drain, main reason was because of lack of skilled medical personnel in those countries. Everything you lot want to introduce sentiments, so it's because the PM is of Indian origin? Ridiculous take.

How long they spent is not relevant to the conversation
That is sentiment

The issue is the word compulsory And what it means
And whether NYSC is compulsory
So if you have nothing to add on that issue can you close the discussion.
Let us talk and think in an orderly ,organised way.
If you want to discuss how long they spent it is another conversation, totally unrelated to the discussion about compulsory

I really don't know why people always talk emotionally
