What does this have to do with APC?

This was based on WHO's declaration last month. Did you read the article? It said:

The WHO on March 8, 2023, listed Nigeria and other 54 countries as facing the most pressing health workforce challenges related to universal health coverage.
And who caused that?
APC government in charge or citizens?🙄🙄🙄

Nigeria has gone down the drain in every sector not just health.

Everyone should go into IT coursera.com get all the certificate you can get including hacking

If you know you can’t do IT and you’re abroad, go and learn carpentry and electrical ASAP if you’re older than 40 and you have some prior education join a group or other Nigerians to provide administrative support assistance to the least educated ones free but very cheap and most free. Let’s work together as a community igbo, yoruba Hausa, abroad we can do this. Bond together for survival

Stay home and develop your country is the message. Honestly the health care sector in Nigeria needs serious work

The doctors and other allied professionals need to be paid better, and need also to have better facilities to work with.

I hate to inform you, but it has nothing to do with APC, and everything to do with the fact that the UK feels uncomfortable about poaching Nigerian and other developing countries doctors.

Also, why should you be happy if our doctors are going abroad? It puts strain on those left behind.
those left behind should also pack their things and go.

They are underpaid and hospitals are underfunded. What is putting a strain on the doctors in Nigeria are all the hospitals that are ill-equipped, forcing professionals to come up with ridiculous ways to save lives.

The Nigerian government should equip the healthcare system here, instead of running abroad to treat themselves.

They have over a billion humans. I'm sure at least 50-80 million of those are health workers. I'm sure they can spare a couple of thousands.

It's time for the sick political officers should make good their words, buy Nigeria to grow Nigerian, enough of foreign medical trips.

And for those in health/medical line who would want to travel out please you can do that and note the UK is not the only country where your skills and expertise would be needed.

You can't be trained in Nigeria almost free of charge (because u paid chicken fee as tuition fee compared to Europe) without paying back to the Country, but using that knowledge to benefit European countries.

Why do we like to reason like this?

Nigerian government should train more doctors and export. Then we earn FX. Free movement of Labour is enshrined in international treaties. You can only stop Labour from moving by providing competitive terms of service.

The most valuable resource right now is human capital.

Fidel Castro of blessed memory did it in Cuba. Instead of scam infrastructural projects like the railway our resources should go to training the Nigerian people. We have a young population. Average age in Nigeria is below 19years.

Grow up and behave intelligently... Not everything is politics.

Nigeria needs the doctors more than the UK where they are 'running' to.

We got two ways to improve funding

1.Make sure the 70% of Nigerians who do not pay tax to federal and state coffers pay taxes....with the ultimate aim of raising our tax to gdp ratio...OR

2. We pay higher hospital fees. (and raise insurance premiums).

Good for the Nigerian doctors too, because UK no even dey pay healthcare workers that much.

People that have sense are targeting US and Canada, na there money dey. So, anybody wey UK reject, US and Canada dey for them

Canada is difficult to penetrate for Nigeria doctors unless they plan to go there not to practice.

That U.S route is costly for an average Nigerian doctor Na why UK be the saving grace for them.

The Nigerian government should equip the healthcare system here, instead of running abroad to treat themselves.

The problem is that we still have unemployed and underemployed doctors.

Doctors are leaving and nurses are leaving government hospitals. These are well trained, mid-level healthcare workers.

When they leave, the powers that be don't recruit new ones who are just coming into the system. Most of the new ones often have to survive on crumbs from private hospitals where they are heavily underemployed and underpaid.

Now, these newbies lose hope and start clamoring to japa too. On the other hand, the few nurses and doctors left in teaching hospitals are now being overworked because their colleagues are leaving and the government is not recruiting new hands. Because they're overworked and the system keep worsening, they also start thinking of how to japa.

The japa syndrome especially among healthcare workers is a lot of mess that requires serious and sincere government intervention to fix it.

Nigerian government should train more doctors and export. Then we earn FX. Free movement of Labour is enshrined in international treaties. You can only stop Labour from moving by providing competitive terms of service.

That would lead to severe issues...many people won't like to pay part of their earnings to the government ...

Forex sent by Nigerians home too already helps our economy.

he most valuable resource right now is human capital.

Fidel Castro of blessed memory did it in Cuba. Instead of scam infrastructural projects like the railway our resources should go to training the Nigerian people. We have a young population. Average age in Nigeria is below 19years.

1.Railway is not a scam. A big reason why our roads are bad is because of heavy usage...which puts strain on them. More railways means not only a cheap way of transporting large numbers of passengers, but also a nice way of transporting frieght.

It even helps with security...back when our railways were working in the 1960's, cows were being transported increasingly by rail. If we can do that.

(I see you mentioned Cuba. Cuba has extensive railways by the way).

2.Cuban doctors are poorly paid. What their government does is take most of their payment for working abroad. The government is using them to earn money because sanctions plus years of running a non-productive socialist economy means the country is broke.

And Cuban doctors are japaing well well. (Not just doctors, a lot of Cubans are japaing, mainly to the USA, some to other countries self). Cuba relies on remittances from cubans abroad, not just Nigerians.
