The Raptors can't even trust their bench and the starting 5 are begin to get run out the park due to fatigue

Other teams had all stars, did they win ring? Did minnesota win ring? You are making excuses to justify failure. I hope Trae becomes more like Curry than Lillard. Funny how hardwork and luck go together
Lol. Name another team that had 3 all-stars last year. Name 3 teams that even had 2.

Na so Raptors take jabo. I actually thought they were going to be a better match up for the Bucks than Chicago. Onto Heat vs Bulls for that 8th seed.

OKC have absolutely nothing to lose in this play-in. I admire their growth and the fight they are putting up against the Pelicans. They are such a young team and this experience will help them.
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 5:17am On Apr 13, 2023
Giddy hits both free throws
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 5:23am On Apr 13, 2023
The Pelicans are going to go from making the playoffs and pushing the Suns last season to not making it to the playoffs this season
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 5:26am On Apr 13, 2023
Richardson’s decision to commit a silly technical when he hit Giddy below the belt was all the momentum OKC needed. To imagine OKC are rebuilding, reminds me of Memphis.

I did not see this loss coming. Wow. The only greater upset I can think of for this playins is if Heat miss playoffs

This really doesn't feel like an upset. OKC got dogs. If the Lakers had lost to the Wolves I'd rather play Pelicans than this OKC.

Nobody is touching Zion even with a 10ft pole, especially on that contract. This isn't about wanting to be in a particular city or not, this is about Zion not having the discipline to be a professional.

When he went out in January, we were told it was a hamstring and he would be out a few weeks. As Zion confirmed, the hamstring is healed but Zion is claiming it is more mental but the Pelicans and other sources are saying his conditioning is bad, which is a kind way of saying, he is overweight again and can not be on the floor, else, he will reinjure the hamstring.
What type of hamstring takes 4 months to heal?

The truth is players are starting to use mental health and feelings as a crutch to just flat out not play.

I heard there's a weight clause in his contract and perhaps that is what is causing him all of this. How hard can it be to just eat lean and eat clean so you can maximize your talents?

No be person be Charles Barkley? Who was even heavier than Zion. What name didn't they call him? Round mound of rebound, Leaning Tower of Pizza, Boy Gorge, Wide load from Leeds

That's why I said previously that teams have to start evaluating beyond talent otherwise they will get burned like the Pelicans are being burned now.

Even Charles said he was never as heavy as Zion or as explosive. Zion excuse isn't mental health, he is just too big for his level of explosiveness and his body just breaks down. Sadly some people's body are just like that. There is more than one reason why Shaq was a freak of nature, but the main one was how he could carry that much weight, be explosive and still not get his body breakdown on him.
The issue now is I don't know if he's able to shed weight and keep it off easily. Sometimes it looks like most of his weight is muscle which means he can't cut the weight at all.
It just like with Chet and Victor, with their body type, foot injuries will always be a concern

Yeah, Zion himself has said he doesnt feel comfortable losing weight. I think he is very muscly beneath the fat, and he has learned to play knowing he is stronger than anyone on the floor. That being said, Lebron looked freakish, but leaned out over the years, this is something Zion could do if he wanted to. But I dont think he wants to. He likes to play like a bear rather than a tiger. Guy should at least try it and see, he might find out he prefers it. No painful joints and ankles, not need to rest double every one elses time, etc

Huhh? Charles Barkley was pushing 300 pounds. I don't know where you heard him say he was never as heavy as Zion because Charles Barkley's weight issues were well documented and he credited Moses Malone for getting him to lose weight

I believe you're making excuses for Zion as well. Do you really think he wouldn't have found a way to get in shape if he wasn't a lottery pick? You think he would not shed some weight if he was some undrafted player unsure of his next contract?

Bro. That guy needs to drastically work on his body. I've not seen him shirtless so it's impossible to tell if his weight is a byproduct of muscles. That guy I'm seeing is not muscular. Same way Shaq was not muscular just big. Muscular is Dwight Howard, Lebron, Karl Malone and Shawn Kemp

What I'm seeing on Zion is baby fat he's unable to shed

As usual, they are drumming up support for the Lakers to go just run through everyone. I love it. I trust the Grizzlies despite us not liking them can end this in 6 games. cheesy grin

Its a superstar league. No one remembers the runner ups. Yeah, MVP has always been a political title, many times, the person most deserving is not shiny enough.

Indeed, I think the Grizzlies are the worst matchup for the Lakers, in that they neutralize a lot of the advantages a Lebron brings by being on the court. 40 minutes a night at full pace will wear any 40year old out

Not just Ajala, DLO will struggle to keep up on the defensive end with Ja. Offensively, AD may be the best option cos he can force the issue with J. Jackson who has a knack for getting into foul trouble even before the 3rd quarter.

They will look to push the offense with transition basketball and not allow the Lakers play half court Defense/Offense. It is a bad matchup for the Lakers. Like you said, 40 minutes of that in a 7 game series is a tough ask for the Lakers.
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 8:20pm On Apr 14, 2023
I still give Lakers the edge sha. Don't know what you guys are on about. If Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke were healthy then that's a different story

Good old Eastern Conference game…

The Heat are struggling to rebound but great in the half court with better shooters. The Bulls on the other hand aren’t a good perimeter scoring team but are active on the boards and rely heavily on the ISO of DeRozan/ Lavine.

As a Celtic, I’d rather the Bucks play the Heat.

man I couldn't stand the second quarter. Both teams played 5 minutes and failed to score one single basket. Missing and turnovers everywhere.
