Not strictly true...the reality is that many recent UK migrants wil struggle to catch up with those who migrated 20 plus years ago and made sound investments in the intervening time period. For starters property was much cheaper 20 years ago and more attainable on smaller salaries. Those who could not afford to buy were able to obtain council homes (which in reality tend to be for life, giving them long term financial and physical security). Some even went on to buy their council homes at a huge discount (thanks to Thatcher) -now many of the same properties are worth up to 10 times more as house prices have sky rocketed even in historically cheaper regions.

UK is going thru economic meltdown at the moment. So things a expensive and hard. But there are still jobs and opportunities.
U have to work hard and be smart to achieve breakthrough.
Pls focus on IT, go for certification in IT courses eg project management. IT is a great economic cushion in this period. Your wife can go into coding since she has computer science background. She can easily earn 400 pounds a day in that field.
Finally, not everything Sukkot said is wrong, don't come here thinking u will be able to build house in maitama or banana island. Don't come here thinking of becoming a billionaire that will be throwing money around in naija. If that's your intention pls don't come.
UK isnt build for such, in fact most western nations apart from America is strongly socialist.
U can attain a solid middle class life here easily compared to Nigeria. Find ways to beat the system albeit legally otherwise u will use all your money to pay tax and bills.

500 pounds monthly is not 10m per year. Use the 20m example he gave, invest it in a conservative commercial paper at 14% and reinvest your interest.

14% of 20m will give you an interest of 2.8m. If you reinvest , 14% of 2.8m will give you 392k.
14% of 392k will give you 54880. 14% of that will give 7600. 14% of 7600 will give you 1000 .

Add all the earned interests and convert to pounds. It comes to about 350 pounds a month without lifting a finger. Note that I used a very conservative 14% interest rate. I've seen higher interests.

brother let’s do the math on it . A consultant or top doctor who is salaried in a permanent role earns 100 thousand pounds a year. Taxation is 40 percent on this type of salary so take home is 60 thousand. Now as a doctor with all the vaccines you have to take that weakens your body with age coupled with the age at which doctors finally are done with studies coupled with ageism in the uk I put it to you that the average working lifespan of a medical doctor is 30 years. So 60 thousand multiplied by 30 is 1.8 million pounds lifetime earning. Now you said it’s possible and you know doctors with 600k houses ? Mortgage with all the interests over 30 years you end up paying three times the house worth so mortgage on a 600k house is 1.8 million you will end up paying. That’s your whole lifetime salary without paying other bills and buying food etc etc . So it’s impossible on a doctors salary to be able to afford these houses you are mentioning. Unless the doctor has a doctor wife but that’s never the case. Almost all doctors have sit at home take care of the babies wife. And so I submit to you that on a medical doctor salary the most you can comfortably do is a 300k house.
