Hello everyone, I just created a Whatsapp link for anyone who is willing to test.
The app is currently on Open testing, I am offering 10 people 2,000 to throughly test the app for bugs and feedback
Thank you.
Here is the link

Modify: The whatsapp link is breaking, anyone know how i can share the link

highlight the text "LINK" and apply a hyperlink with the whatsapp group link.

Thank you Nairaland community for your continued support, however at this point I am going to pause testing of the app due to some issue raised by Rubyjade and nickae

Rathoreng:
Though this trips me, but i hope youll answer it; how do you plan on the security issues cox not every one would love somebody entering his car, maybe he's a thief, thanks
nickae:
My concern like someone pointed out is the state of security in this country, there isn't a regulatory/regulation involved, a good guy today can become evil tomorrow with no trace since there isn't a sort of documentation involved.
For the next couple of days I am going to address this issue seriously, I knew security would be challenge, however i am going to work on the app to make it more strict.

The steps I am taking is to enforce everyone to show identity with either Passport, Driver Linsence or Voters Card. I am also going to enforce phone number verification.

If there is more you'd like me to add, I am open for critisim and feedback

Special thanks to everyone who has contributed Kalaba, Kiddogarcia, Rubyjade, lordally, Ajibade123, nickae, akinade28, Rathoreng. I would remember you all in thy kingdom smiley

voter's card is more reliable or NIN, not everyone has passport, drivers license is not reliable, many drivers dnt have it , once they have driving permit. NIN is the best. it's highly unlikely for average Nigerian to lie on their NIN details. ensure user completes their profile before assessing the service.

since it's mostly for working professional, have your team setup tracker to confirm their routes on daily basis, any sudden change of route will be flagged or once they select their axis, then you define their route making it impossible for the same driver to carry someone from a different daily commute.

many things go shele, people will find love, make love and even share testimony of how they first met (thanks to your app🤣), d tin go break 💔 too😒

users don't like stress, after all suggestions, find a way to make it efficient, workers are busy people, they can prefer to upload all their document for you at once than filling up several data

as a user without a car, once m ready to go out, I should see the driver's around my area that are ready to pick me up in defined time and where they will pick me

we have something like In Dubai, it's called bus on demand . look it up!

goodluck☀️

Okay Charpell. First off, congratulations. This appears to be a solution poised to go far favourably, from the idea down to the establishment. May it reach beyond the heights you target.

Meanwhile, in my test, I observe the user manual at start of the app is tilted to the right of the screen. It needs be realigned to fit into the centre. This will boost the user interface for its consumers.

Ajibade it's equally great to bring your own app to the forth. Since you have the idea. Competition is good for our economy, and society. It's the way IBM and Microsoft and a lot others coexist.

Model your idea and monetize it. We'd be looking out for yours too. If your idea dies off now that it can beaming. You'll hate you didn't terminate your tertiary education like Jobs, Gate, Larry Page, and Zuck to focus on it, in the future.

Peace.

Regardless of how tired you're, if you don't have an idea that can rake in millions into your account, don't quit o. I bet you'dbe glad you did. In fact, use all your energy to make the top grade possible, worst you'd experience is being "tired". Yet being tired is normal. Nothing on earth isn't tiring at some point.

Hello, I see you have vast experience in programming. Do you think I should use an api to verify the user's details and an api for creating wallets. Or I should do them manually. I know paystack and flutterwave is on the high cost, thats why I am bycotting payments for now

Use an API except you wanna build yours for verifying manually from scratch which is a huge task.

Today's Update

In the past 2 days, I have been working to correct 9 bugs reported by testers.
I paid 5 testers a total of 10k and it was worth it. The average time of testing was 10 minutes. if i have more I could be paying 5k instead of 2k. These testers gave me reports, feedback and correction on what I can do to improve. Here are some couple of screenshots of bugs I got from the testers.

Secondly I also worked on building out the interface for the verification of users, a user needs to upload their document before they can start creating trips or booking rides.

What I will be doing for the rest of today
I am going to start working on the verification process, initially I thought the verification would be done manually but thanks to tensazangetsu20 who recommended okra API. I will be studying it and implementing at the server side. My estimated time of delivery should be 6 hours so that i can push the final update tomorrow.

Let me know if there is any bugs I need to fix, thanks

@Charpell
Nice idea!
I do have some questions, though:
1) what governmental agencies will you need to engage with? (Police, Min.of Transport, State Traffic Mgt, VIO)?
2) who verifies the KYC you intend running on? That is, who verifies the NIN, utility bill, company ID, etc?
3) are participants going to rate their cars to select which is best? Also, are participants going to rate their driving skills, to see who's safest?
4) do you know what the financial strain was on the GoMyWay system? Why did they think they had the financial muscle to offer two years free? [As in, how do you pull their investors to yourself? ]

Take your time to respond. You are doing programming stuff I don't know much about.
I hope to give feedback after your response.

Hello, thank you for the questions.

1 So we plan on engaging the Police, one feature we are planning to implement is the Panic Button when the ride is on. This allows the rider to simutaneously alert the Police and our customer service support team in case of emergency or distress situation.
Now that you have mentioned other agencies, I am going to update my plan to see how we can engage them

2 In programming, there are company that already provides this solution to us through what is called API. We are going to use the OKRA API to run KYC on every user, verify it before they can use the core feauture of the app.

3 We have already provided the rating and feedback feature in the app which the rider can give immediately after the trip. By rating a user, already rates the car

4 Gomyway failed because the business was modeled on profit. GoMyWay wanted able to monetize its platform, like the Bolt model, get percentage from the driver after a trip which is normal, but you know Nigerians, they must find a way to cut the system.
The system that makes Bolt driver will want you to cancel the trip after he has gotten to you, so he dosen't pay the 25% to Bolt.

I hope I answer your questions to the best
Regards

Thank you, @Charpell

You answered all of my questions. I did not know what an API was.
I do know that a suggestion for another vehicle paper has been raised for ride-hailing cars. (Just like Lagos State cut in with LASDRI for privately employed drivers).
When I think of the database you must hold, I know expenses are high.

Do you mean that you have scaled-back on profit? Does that mean that you would rather go equity than debt? For how long?
I will go back to read what you would be doing differently from GoMyWay.

Good luck, too. I'll keep tracking this. I'll help if I can.
