Lagos is the most profitable for real estate they are abusing it

Major cause of all these collapse buildings is shortcut on materials.
The measurements of materials on site is not up to the supposed standard because the workers want to make money.
Some materials are not usually up to required values and volumetric measurements.
Failure of professional service on site.
These and many more factors are the most reasons why building under construction are crumbling down

The cement produced now are so inferior that it can not be trusted.
Some of this collapse are not just wrong planning and execution but the cements get weak easily...
Pls they should test for the strength of this cements.

On a second thought, I was pondering on how quality-based the cements produced now are. Govt. needs to beam its search light on those manufacturers too.

That means a certain people from a certain state don't have sense BECAUSE THE LAST TIME I CHECKED, HOUSES DO NOT COLLAPSE IN ABA NOR IN ABIA STATE EVEN WITH THEIR ABA MADE MATERIALS.

Before you write, always ask God for sense.

It is not the cement. If you use one bag of cement to mold 75 80 blocks you are just planning to kill ppl. The foundation also.

Am scared of any building under construction and newly built houses in Lagos these days.

We are paying the price for bypassing official channels and regulations. Everyone wants to be smart.
It's now the governor of the state that has to personally demolish substandard buildings as if there isn't any state ministry in charge of buildings.
Eh? State ministry full of hundreds of workers, collecting salary every month, does not have the power to inspect and demolish buildings.

The issue of cement should be investigated urgently in addition to all other engineering analysis of the problems.

Few weeks ago I bought some bags of cement for a remedial jobs. Few days later, I observed the jobs are not as strong as the jobs did few years ago. The jobs were done by the same people. I reminded the team leader that in 2017, the place has become very strong few hours and stronger the following day. Up till now, almost 5 weeks, I observed the place is not as strong and solid as it should be.

Some of the so-called contractors are so cruel and heartless that they'll build a house with inferior materials. Their only concern is profit, not the quality of the project.

Let's forget the govt for now.
Two things come into play:

1) client always wanting best price (cheap price) thereby allowing contractor to use cheap materials based on clients budget.

2) client paid handsomely and the crooked contractor used cheap materials.

As for me, in my field. I don't do cheap jobs, once I give u my quote and you can't afford it, bye bye. There is alsways that peace when you use quality materials for your clients. That's the peace I embrace.

I don't know the confidence the Engineers have got in constructing high rise Buildings on Sand filled land... not even filled with clay ooooo.
A chronic illiterate knows it is wrong.

Another people they need to investigate are the suppliers of Sand, hope they aren't supplying sand from the sea(salty sand)

thirdly, the pillars design/reinforcement of nowadays building are toooooo slim/thin for the Calibre of building under construction.
