I am not sure but surely, they are grown in Mexico so they can always import it. Regular chain stores like Walmart rarely have them in my state however, I get mine from African store. I know Mexican stores too carry them.

True. You can find plantain in most grocery stores.

They bring them from the neighboring south America countries. If Plantain is part of their diet, you could have been seeing Plantain in different forms and breeds - white, red, gray, blue Plantain etc

Plantain and banana are mostly from South America countries.

Potatoes yes, Plantain no. I remember seeing Plantain farm in Oahu.
