🚨🇳🇱 Ten Hag: “Of course when you’re 2-0 up you are a little bit disappointed when you draw. It’s obvious. We had the chances for 3-1, but after this week 2-2 is a good draw.” #MUFC |

Jokerman:We need an elite mentality from the coaches to the players. Send 9ut the right signals, he should be saying It's 2 points dropped and reiterating that it's not acceptable going forward. |

Jokerman: ![]() Casemiro, Eriksen and Martinez have performed so well for the club this season. Malacia has done better too, though seems to losing it at end of season. Antony has made more positive contributions to the team than Sancho and Martial. Ghost came in when we needed a STRIKER so badly and he has done so well based on his capabilities. |

patrickmuf: ![]() We will be fine next season. Pray Qatari take over cos that's the major problem we should deal with now. You can't expect EtH to perform more than he has done this season so far with players like Maguire, Fred and co. |

patrickmuf:On paper our midfield should be better than Brighton's and i agree that we should be performing better than what we are seeing, but you also have to consider the actual characteristics of the players. Only Bruno out of our 3 midfielders can press in a manner approaching that of his Brighton counterpart. Both Case and Eriksen at this stage in their careers can never press the way Caicedo and the other Brighton midfielders do. None of our 3 midfielders can progress the ball through midfield with runs. Casemiro and Eriksen don't have the legs and Bruno does it mainly in the open field on the counter. He doesn't have the technique to consistently dribble through a set midfield. Fred and McTom that can do it with pace (not technique) are horrendous in so many other things. So what we have are midfielders that have no solution once the passing lanes are blocked unlike Caicedo, McAllister, Bernardo Silva, Partey, Gundogan etc. that can break a press or even settled midfield by running with the ball. We desperately need a proper no8 who can send Eriksen to the bench and enable us to offload McTom and/or Fred finally. For this specific game however i think it was more because our players didn't have the gas tank to step up to Spurs partially because of our 120 mins game a few days earlier. ETH still struggles with his substitutions though. |

Oasis007:Bro maguire didn't play today, and most of our other games where we struggle to keep up with the pace of the game. Even Fred has been on the bench for most of our recent games |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 6:12am On Apr 28, 2023 |
I'm afraid we will continue to struggle unless we can get a forward and midfield line up that can play with high intensity for 90 minutes. Everyone presses as a unit and show up for passes, not what most of our players are currently offering |

patrickmuf:You said Pep would use 50m to buy two good players. That's what I refuted. City spends a lot of money on players. No be today Dem dey buy players so their recruitment strategy and personnel is miles ahead of United's. It doesn't mean they hjt the jackpot every time either. They spent 100m on Graelish and the guy had a very disappointing fjrst season. And this 'success in recruitment' has little to do with Pep. He has a very good support system. United, on the other hand, has had so many problems with recruitment over the years. We're yet to get it right. We needed to buy players in January and look at the reinforcements we had. We still need a strong core- CB, midfield, striker. Until we get that, we'll keep having this problem where a few injuries would end our season. |

Blake755:See this one . See your stat self. I don't know how you go watch debruyne and fernades and conclude that fernades is better than debruyne. How is halaand and eriksen still having the same number of assist as Bruno this season. Na sentiment some of unaa dey used watch ball. Na you suppose rest.

patrickmuf:LoL, you still don't get it sha Like I said... it's not about the name, but the ability of the players. I've seen midfielders who're good on the ball. However, if you notice our midfielders well, you'd know they're not ball holders as they tend to give away possession Now ETH understands this perfectly and that's why he prefers a counter- attack setup. It's also for this reason that we don't build up play. The ingredients simply aren't there! We all know how his Ajax team played possession game beautifully with seemingly nameless players, don't we? He can't try that with these our players. No way. ETH is simply just playing according to the strength of our key players in Bruno and Rash whose style are more suited to counter. That's the smart thing any coach would do. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by LostMyZeal(m): 8:08am On Apr 28, 2023 |
Leyqute:Even if fatigue no dey, this team no fit control games. They only manage to do that against lower teams. All the games we played with the top 6, how many did we win convincingly? Once we jam any team that's well organized, we resort to setting counter traps. Like you said, we need quality players. ETH must be ruthless, if not... ![]() |

afrodoc2:This is it. Not the name but the ability. We need a serious overhaul |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 8:29am On Apr 28, 2023 |
afrodoc2:You have made very good points but on the whole, it points to a lack of proper game management from the coaches. They should have locked up shop in the second half rather than sit and watch Spurs continually play through us. Another thing I have noticed is that our players do not take up the right positions in games and that makes it practically impossible for us to retain the ball. You watch City other top teams and it is different, the player on the ball almost always has like 2-3 passing options around him that's because they move into space to receive the ball but our players hardly do that save for a few. You'll see your teammate being closed down but instead of running into space to receive the ball they hide behind the opponents. The lack of movement and intensity characterized our play under Ole and we still haven't showed considerable progress at this stage. |

For all the talk of a world class striker being the first signing that walks through the door in the summer because I can understand it, if we took at least 65%-70% of our chances most times this season, then, most games we play would virtually be over by half time.. Personally, the first two signings that walk through the door should be two world class midfielders...We can't just blow that £100-150m on a striker alone instead of using it to get these two midfielders...Eriksen and Casemiro with all their intelligence can't press properly, Eriksen especially and Fred, Mctom, Sabitzer are all absolute disaster in ball retention and control... If the trio of Fred,Mctom and Sabitzer are our midfield options in games next season, then ETH will fail woefully because he's that stubborn manager who just refuses to tweak his formation.. |

patrickmuf:Bruh we get plenty movement changes this season abeg...The real issue is, if its Rashford and he's not seeing Martial, he'd just shoot...This happened after the game was level if you can remember, we were like 4 against three or so...Antony's own is just what I can't understand, he no dey send anybody at all na just to try that R2 wey dey him head and WhoGhost, he'd most probably give the ball back to our opponent.. We need to start playing as a team more...City's forward players would rather score and be ahead than chase personal accolades but even Bruno can be guilty of selfishness too.. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 9:14am On Apr 28, 2023 |
Borntosmoke:TBF Bruno has been moved around a lot this season. We know what he can do if he's allowed to play in his preferred position and the team is able to sustain collective pressure for most part of the game |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by CrystalTiger(m): 9:17am On Apr 28, 2023 |
Borntosmoke:These things are not just white and black like that..One thing I can give to Bruno is his ease to spot a runner and sharpness in releasing the ball...He'd have like two assists yesterday if Sancho had sense.. When this stat thing come up in terms of assists, one should also factor in the strikers or forwards in the teams...Bruno with a Haaland gets at least 13 assists in the league by now and KDB with our forwards would most definitely not be on that 16 assists.. |

Am I the only one that is not comfortable with the signing of Kane at this stage of his Career? We need a striker that is Under-25. If we have the Qataris we can sign Kane and another young striker, because Kane for me has the Sanchez-vibes and Lukaku-to-Chelsea vibe written all over it |

Borntosmoke:U no sabi ball before, lol Do you want to compare the forwards at City and United? Assist is almost 100% dependent on the goalscorer. Check out their pure creativity stats, despite Bruno playing with below average players and out of position (RW, CM and 6) I wonder why we didn't get KDB alert during World Cup ![]()

LostMyZeal:If fatigue no dey, a midfield trio of Bruno, Case and Eriksen still have a good chance at the r home of any of the top 6 teams. That wasn’t the case yesterday. Plus the quality of our subs was low. It’s said that Fred lost possession 10 times when he came on and had a 70% pass accuracy. We can’t be having that sort of performance if we want to win important away games. Moreover, we’ve beaten all those teams at Old Trafford - Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Brentford, Tottenham, etc. But we haven’t beaten those teams in their home ground. It’s the next step we have to take and our squad is not helping matters. |

4 wins and 2 draws would seal champions league spot Manchester United vs Aston Villa ( win) Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester United (win) West Ham United vs Manchester United (draw) Manchester United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (win) AFC Bournemouth vs Manchester United (draw we struggle in small stadiums) Manchester United vs Chelsea (draw) Manchester United vs Fulham (win) |
