Please is there a way one can check if they overworked 20 hours?
I'm really confused about the way different agencies calculate their work week
Some say the week starts Sunday
Some say it starts Monday
How does one keep safe

Also are there people who have overworked 20 hours at least once that have gotten pswp?

Please how do you guys cope for individuals who are on a student visa.
20 hours a week: how many jobs can you do?

what is the minimum pay/hour?

what is the minimum rent fee for a simple suitable accomodation?

how about Utility bills(electricity and water etc..gas)?

at the end of the day, how much can you save?

If say one earns 9.5GBP/hr x 20 hrs x 4 weeks= 760 Pounds/month. Now 760GBP is equivalent to roughly N421,000.

This isnt much money for a family man to send back home after removing rent and recurring bills....so how una dey do am? Abi drugs trafficking dey involved? we really need to know.

I think as a student, you should have limited expectations when you arrive. You have to study the system and survive for a few months before you start to send money home or think of doing it. What you will earn can barely sustain you. Its why we can only hope they extend the work hours asap as rumoured

Hello I am planning to migrate to Manchester/Birmingham depending on where I secure an accommodation and I need help with how to secure an accommodation as soon as I get there or from here in Nigeria. A room flat or studio apartment will not be a bad option. Please I need insight on what to do to secure one immediately. I will appreciate any help from the house. Thank you

Hello @ everyone.
I am migrating to the UK on dependent VISA. I am yet to secure an accommodation. I am looking forward to book for Manchester or Vs Birmingham. Is there anyone that can help on how to secure an accommodation. A room flat or studio works perfectly and I am also open to suggestions.
Thank you

We  Nigerians and our one way thinking. Yes there are jobs in UK for international students we just dont see them or rather our one way thinking dont make it possible. I only share this with my family members before but I am so annoyed I will share it with you. If you are coming here please learn a trade in Naija before coming-capentary,tailoring,barbing,plumbing,roadside mechanics -These things will make you rich even as a student in UK . A mechanic will earn at least £200 a day, plumbers sometimes £70 an hour , who do you think cuts the black people's hair in UK? but the problem is that people come with the mindset that they want to get job in Tesco alongside their studies. no come with these skills and you will be very ok or otherwise pass your driving test and become a courier or sell things in the market. just think damn out of the box . I self sponsored for 4 years in UK and im now a British citizen since long ago .
If you are ready to pay consultancy to me mehhn your landing will be smooth. Self ive divulged too much, lol, that's a joke but i like to help. UK is still dripping with money just change your mindset and learn the street a bit. selah

The aforementioned jobs are not even being monitored by the government so technically you can do 100 hours a week if you like and nobody can prove it . A friend's wife sells Marykay self and makes big bucks. stop your working in Tesco mentality and UK will be nice for you. peace
Think about this-my mechanic in Hackney told  one day  bros I bought two houses cash . Noone bothers with him because the government cannot monitor them and things are done under the table. Im a software engineer but studying in UK is far better than studying in America and Canada and you are likely to get your kpali if you know how to play  the system without anything fraudulent self. All the people shouting UK no get job should wake up if they want to come and learn from my advice. Now where is my consultancy fee NAIRALANDERS?
Greetings sir.
I’m a software developer with 3+ years of experience and a bachelors degree in computer science.
I’m planning to relocate to the uk via the study route and do my masters in software engineering or data science.
I will be glad if I can connect with you for more advice.

@Generalshepherd
Please I want to know what family life is like as my hubby got admission in Cranfield and we intend moving with him. Accommodation, job for dependant.
Thank you
GeneralShepherd:

1.Employment after school is high for home students as per international students it is increasingly difficult.

2. Accommodation is cheaper if you live in a shared house on campus. If you are interested in this option, please apply early on EVE portal. Cranfield University is in a remote location and to be honest living on campus is your best bet.

3. The nearest big towns are Bedford on one side and milton Keynes on the other. There busses going either direction from school every half hour. The journey as well in either direction takes approximately 30 mins.

However I must warn that the services are less frequent on Saturdays (hourly) and even lesser on Sundays (every 1 Hour 30 mins)

Also London is about 40 via train from both MK and Bedford train stations.

4. Social activity is poor due to the size and nature of the school. It is a postgraduate only University, therefore it is shouldn't be surprising that the population is significantly lower when compared to traditional universities. However, you can always go to Bedford or Milton Keynes to club etc.

5. The school is highly regarded in Europe but if you are self sponsored, and wish to study in Cranfield University studying an Msc in Manufacturing or Supply chain may do you better overall. This is because alot of jobs related to thermal power in the UK require security clearance, which you cannot meet as an international student.

Cranfield University would have been perfect if the immigration laws in the UK were fairer, as it is one of the best universities in Europe. This is evidenced by the unparalleled industry collaboration in research as well as the unprecedented reputation it commands.

Hope this helps. (forgive any typo or errors, I'm replying on my mobile)

It's been 8 years since I left Cranfield and England. Most of the things I remember and know are probably outdated.
