Seven (7) reasons why men cheat that has nothing to do with their spouse.
Most times when men cheat, they are quick to blame it on the character/mistakes/lapses of their spouse. I can categorically tell you that most times men cheat, it has nothing to do with their spouse...
Here are seven reasons a man might cheat that has nothing to do with his spouse.

1. Man's adventurous nature:
a man will cheat because it's man's nature to be adventurous, so most men will naturally want to sleep with/explore other spec of women... Explore and conquer new grounds...

2. Lack or self discipline/moral standards. This is a major factor why men cheat... Men fall for other women antics easily because of this... Some out of sympathy ( I don't want to hurt her/turn her down)... Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) was an exemplary disciplined man.

3. Doesn't love his spouse enough not to want to hurt her: note that loving someone hinges more on if you are a loving person not whether the person is lovable.

4. He has nothing to loose (reputation, respect, etc.)

5. He thinks he is smart enough not to be caught.

6. Availability of the opportunity... This is self explanatory... But for more clarity, the man who works at the construction site all day has lesser tendency to cheat than the man who lectures in hotel and tourism department in a tertiary institution or a gynaecologist.

7. A means to a better end.... Social climbers... Sleep with the boss to get promotion at work or win a contract.

@OP, only your number1 reason makes sense and closest to the truth.
The rest of your reasons are just gag-tags designed to gag men into compulsory monogamy which God never commanded.
Anything that is not natural will fail.

And who said polygamist don't cheat. Why it's called cheating is because you don't want the other party to know, otherwise I don't consider it cheating just as in the case of open relationships.
Trust me, I preach and support polygamy, but there is something called commitment that comes in the form of promises/vows when couples get married. Plus if you want to just bleep around, don't commit yourself into any serious relationship or marriage...
