Did you just say struggling? I'm not sure you know what you are talking about. Majority of the soldiers used so far in this war are the donbass militias who have now been integrated into the Russian army due to the inclusion of territories from Ukraine into Russia, Wagner PMC which is a private military contractor and recruits prisoners to fight, and just a small fraction of the Russian army. The majority of the Russian army are not even involved in the war yet. Bakmut, maryinka and adveeka are almost falling. After these cities fall, it would be straight rollover for the Russians to move deep into Ukraine as there are no heavy defensive structures in Ukraine after these cities. The Russians if anything, have actually been very impressive, fighting a war that sees them liberate territories by fighting for every centimeter of land, house to house, and saving civilian population in the places where they are fighting, instead of just dropping bombs randomly on cities and flattening everywhere and destroying thousands of civilians like the Americans do. I don't think there's is any other military on earth that can fight a war like this. The places that are being bombed are the front lines and logistics hubs for resupply of ammunition by the Ukrainians.

5. The Resources in the land corridor is immense. From Iron Ore, to Agricultural, to largest Nuclear power plant, to Industries and salt mines are all concentrated here.

The incentive for takeover of Ukraine is economically and politically tempting: all Russia needed to do was to manufacture an excuse!
