Sleep paralysis is not deathlike though it gives you a kind of chill when you're awake, but struggling and finding it difficult to move any part of your body.

The night I saw whatever this thing/creature/spirit behind it was the last time I experienced it; been years now.

I was asleep as usual but woke up suddenly and I was into sleep paralysis. I tried to move but I felt this weight on me like I can't even breath and can't move and can't talk. Then I returned to the spirit and was muttering, "LORD please help me..." faintly. All of a sudden, I saw this like thick black shadow-like cloud in the form of something like a gorilla but not like a gorilla move away off me. It crawled off to the floor and crawled up the wall at the angle of the room, like with its back to the wall, pushing itself up on its arms and legs, up and into the ceiling, vanishing.

That was the last time I experienced sleep paralysis.
