Kadaria was upbeat with improvements in the electoral system; but President Buhari and Mahmood Yakubu upturned her upbeat. Because of Fulani Buhari/Mahmood plans to use old and frail Tinubu as front to renew the tenure of Buhari cabal in Aso Rock; the presidential election was reduced to a most primitive election heist ever in any country of the world. But the Buharideens must not be allowed to have their way. The clearly spelt 25% votes requirement in Abuja and its importance can only be a subject for arguments before a thieving person. Nobody can administer a territory where he is not welcome. A presidential candidate must score 25% of votes in Abuja to be welcomed to administer Abuja federal capital territory. |

Let us even leave out section 299 of the constitution first and go by the statement of those that says Abuja is not a state. If the constitution had made mention of 36 states of the federation without mentioning Abuja, indigene of the FCT will be disenfranchised. As the constitution can't say 37 states of the federation, that is why it says 36 STATES AND THE FCT/ABUJA to allow the votes of people in Abuja count. There is no place where the constitution give preference to votes from Abuja. seanfer: 1 Like |

Maize247: Other states are important. The constitution says you need highest number of votes, 25% of votes in 24 states, plus 25% as well in Abuja. So you see, other state are important as well, your narrative makes no sense. |

SOSinNigeria: When Datti Yusuf told them that hard truth, they wanted to charge him for treason. Yakubu Mahmood never remembered to allot as many votes as necessary to Tinubu to enable Tinubu overcome the 25% requirement in Abuja. God must have blinded Mahmood on that, made that part of constitutional requirements become Mahmood's blindspot. |

Maize247:Do you know that, even if you get 100billion majority votes but do not get the required spread, you won't go anywhere near the Aso Rock? So, why does the spread has such importance? Why can't a simple majority vote be used to declare a winner? |

Re: “Nobody Can Be Nigeria's President Without Getting 25% In FCT”—Kadaria Ahmed by Elliotg: 6:06pm On May 22, 2023 |
quickly:Why is the 25 percent spread as important as a simply majority vote? Why don't we stick to the simply majority votes instead of including 25percent spread in 24 states and the FCT? Do you get where my logic is going? If simply majority was the only requirement, candidate would just focuse on few specific states which have large numbers, win them and be declared winner. There will be no need to do campaigns in States like mine Bayelsa state because we have just a meager numbers. |

Maize247: I believe you are learned to understand that what governs a nation is its constitution. Without a constitution, you can't have a country. If the 1999 constitution stipulates that without 25% in FCT you can't become president; then that is what it should be. |

LeoDeKing: She is not the INEC chairman, she only quoted the constitution. And mind you; The 1999 constitution is supreme, and supersedes both the INEC constitution, or any other constitution What guides us is the constitution, and the constitution has said that you MUST get 25% in FCT to become president elect. Lets not talk like illiterates, or myopic like a tribal bigot, we should follow the constitution. |

DiscoverID: Today was the commissioning of dangote refinery in lagos. Guess who represented the president elect. It was the vice president elect. Tinubu might be brilliant then but he is sick now, the country would be on auto pilot just like buhari. Forget putting brilliant ministers etc, if your not there to monitor them and charge the to work effectively. Nothing will come out. To run a government is the same way you run a business. |
Re: “Nobody Can Be Nigeria's President Without Getting 25% In FCT”—Kadaria Ahmed by LeoDeKing: 6:21pm On May 22, 2023 |
Dshocker:The same constitution says FCT should be treated as a state for the purpose of election. Difficulty in understanding this provision is the real meaning of illiteracy. In addition, what's the logic of placing high premium on FCT votes ahead of other states? Does a shoe shiner or okada rider in FCT have 20 heads while a lecturer in Lagos state has one head? Without even the constitution, that is a whole bulcrap, besides, the constitution says all be treated equally. So gtf outta my mention. |

You are now changing the goal post in the middle of the match just to favour your candidate. Simply call a spade a spade and stop acting like someone without conscience and sound reasoning. |

Aquila99:I just asked you a simple question which is your answer. It's not about the people, but the state. The state is all what we are talking about. The people do not matter, but the state. Is Abuja a state? if it is a state, then it's among the state's and doesn't need any special place. But since Abuja is not included in a State in Nigeria, it means it's sits as a body and entity existing on its own. Now you can get all other states, but if you don't get this particular entity too, then you loose. You can get your girl pregnant for all I care, but because you never married her, she can take her children anytime. This is explained in a layman's terms for you now |

[quote author=SOSinNigeria post=123284469]Datti Baba Ahmed and other statesmen and women have warned that swearing in Tinubu will be the end of our democracy. Simply because it's illegal. We have no president yet and Mahmood will definitely serve his time in prison. [ Ask your Datti whether he was sworned in when he declared Sen. He was in the house of rep for almost a year before he was sacked by the court. Also ask P.O if he was sworned in for second term in Anambra before court affirmed his re -election] Maybe I should say under age everywhere. On May 29 go to Eagle Square to say rubbish |
