If your visa expired 5 years ago you don’t qualify as a first timer. I have also visited the following countries over 5 years ago, Mexico and Argentina.
I will be going for my USA interview next week because,I will be going to Paris from USA.

Cheers.

Yes. You are correct.
The permissable cover is 5 years for Schengen.
For UK, 10 years.

I asked because I wanted to know if you submitted your previous passport along present one , which for obvious reasons would have given the VO a notice that you had a previous US visa.
Thanks for the insight.

I wish you well ahead of your US interview and we hope you come back to share with us how the interview went on that section.

Thank you.

We submitted the our company original document and yes there's enough fund for the family.

The last line gave the reasons as to authenticity of documents submitted. What documents did you submit in your application? Did you have sufficient funds for the trip for all 5 people In your application or insurance for the duration etc.

One would need more information on your application documents submitted to be able to throw some more light

Visas are not always guaranteed but If your documents and funds are in order you can always appeal the rejection or reapply. I'm sure more experienced folks can advise which is quicker.

Hi Blessedsteph, thank you so much for this information. Please just for confirmation, is it 28 working days stated or just 28 days?

Hi Dami any luck with your Italian visa? How many days has it been now? Got a call from British embassy yesterday asking me to submit my passport to TLS contact. Exactly a week after biometrics.

Hasn’t been returned yet…. I mailed them asking them to return the passport that I need it for something…. They responded asking for details and asked for bank statement…. I mailed them again on Friday asking to please just return the passport. They responded on Monday that they will return it that Monday. I am still waiting. Today is like our 26 or 27th working day to return it to ukvi😭

Hello house..great platform here.

For those that went through the conference route, pls how did you go about accommodation? The thing is I had already started the processing through an agent before I came was fortunate to stumble on this thread 3days ago.
My agent said someone will come pick me up after landing but I'm trying to work on a plan B incase his own link fails to work or show.

Conference route? Someone coming to pick you up? Are you sure you are not about to get scammed?

Be careful with agents. Many times they put together fake documents for unsuspecting victims and completely jeopardize any possible chance to get visas in future. If you must engage the help of any agency, contact registered immigration law firms.

Submitted my documents today. Patiently waiting smiley

Goodluck! Belgium takes their precious time to respond. But usually update application status via VOW in 3 weeks approximately
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by thelma76(f): 1:54pm On May 25, 2023
Just want to share my application summary. I will come back to quote with whatever the status is, once a decision is made.

1. Applied under frequent traveller category to France (previous business Schengen visa to Portugal - 3 weeks validity, granted last year October) submitted copies of all visa stamps (including São Tomé even if it doesn’t count grin)
2. 6 days travel duration
3. Single entry (keeping things as simple as possible)
4. Hotel bookings attached for all nights (I got this from bookings.com. I had to use a dollar card to get the confirmation)
5. Return flight booking attached
6. Cover letter from employer approving leave and specifying return date (I noticed afterwards that there was a typo in the year for travel dates (2022 instead of 2023) but there’s nothing I can do now but wait and see how that plays out since other documents had the right date as well as confirmation of work resumption date
7. Pensions (RSA) reference letter with account summary
8. Account statement (3months from salary account and Piggyvest) combined balance was 2.3m. I noticed people shy away from stating Acc balances used to apply but once it’s 10m above, people share easily grin. I’m stating mine so it helps other applicants benchmark in some way.
9. Offer letter, and payslips
10. Travel insurance certificate (2weeks)
12. Visa application form with passports (for passport, just opt for VFS service, those external agents charge higher sometimes and haggling is extra anxiety that can be avoided)
13. Cover letter detailing itinerary and spots to visit

I’d advise anyone applying to opt for a super early time slot. I was out of VFS Lagos in way less than 30minutes for the entire process and this included printing an extra document and taking passport photographs. It’s exactly one week since I applied so I am awaiting feedback currently. Let’s see how it goes

Oh UK visit visa will definitely be ready before 8th June. We submitted for UK on a Wednesday and by Thursday the following week, they called for passport return. We really should have just waited but were trying to avoid traveling to Abuja twice for application submissions

How long did it take for UK to return the passport to you after you submitted it?

Okay, so is this a coincidence or do these officials read these threads? Right after my rant, I Got a notification on Friday 19th, and the passport was delivered today. Visa issued by the Italian Embassy.
Docs submitted:
1 Intro Letter stating the purpose for travel including a summary of my proposed itinerary. I ALSO disclosed the fact that I planned to visit Greece and France after Italy. Visiting multiple Schengen countries as part of your vacation really is inconsequential to their decision-making process in my opinion. Be honest folks.
2 Completed form
3 Bank Statement 4 months
4 Company Letters confirming status
5 Insurance Cert (worldwide cover)
6 Hotel Booking(s)
7 Flight Itinerary
8 Photocopies of previous (as far back as 2013) and current visas

I am a frequent traveler to the US, UK, SA, Seychelles, Mauritius, etc.

I don't see why folks rush the French embassy via VFS. The experience at TLS (for me) was superior with little to no delays at the center. But Italians like to take their time so expect a 1-month wait for their decision. Renewing my 10-year UK visa was also a breeze at TLS.

How many years uk visa did you have before applying for 10years? how long did it take to get your passport back from uk?

Wonderful. So quick. I’m hoping we are able to resubmit the passport tomorrow. Got a text that passport has returned from Italy embassy today. Hopefully I can collect from TLS italy and handover to TLS UKVI immediately. Cant believe how absolutely nerve wrecking this process has been 😭

It was a renewal. Already had a 10 year visa from 2013.

Took 8 days from submission to email confirming passport return. Factor in DHL, then an extra day.
