I guess she didn't have a full understanding of what she signed up for. It's the way the force works. Plus coming out on social media won't be good for her.

In fact it is her social media outcry that will facilitate her discharge. The part where they require she pays three months salary back to government if she wants speedy processing will be her escape route. Public support will capitalize on that part to free her.

However I do not imply that the police force is at fault. Actually they are not. Their refusal to let her go stems from the simple fact that she is yet to complete the mandatory minimum years of service in the force.

I pity her though.

She was supposed to know that once your desire/request to leave has not been officially granted,going AWOL will have consequences.No matter how long she has written about it but is being deliberately delayed,it's wrong of her to have stayed away from work

There is a MINIMUM TIME expected of you to be on the Job for every Officer signed on.

I can only remember 10 years because a friend of mine got out after 10 years in the Force but someone say it is 20 years. I will have to reconfirm that.

But my Friend resigned after 10 years in the Force.

Alternatively, this Lady could have gone the other route. Pay 3 Months Salary to the Government and get out if you really want out.

The Rule is the Rule. You signed up for it.

The Detention is normal procedure. Absconding without Leave or Approval is a serious crime in All Forces.

I have been trying to resign from the Police since last year but my letters were not approved.

Pay 3 Months Salary in lieu to the Nigeria Police Force followed by her Letter of Resignation with proof of payment. Then let her wait for the Approval.

As for the Detention, she can PLEAD and plead alone since she absconded without Approval.

Sometimes these Establishments can be vengeful, to avoid that, play by their/the Rules, then you won't be scathed as she is now.

Let her Mum go plead. Nigerians like people begging them for frivolous things moreso the Police.
