Check the history of Islam in west Africa. Islam came to west Africa in 8th century. Tell me the war that was fought during this era to spread Islam across the West African Nations.

Islam came to Nigeria early before Christianity in 9th century and spread across the country between 11th and 12th century. In 1515, Christianity came to Nigeria through the Portuguese. Tell me the war fought in Nigeria by the Muslim during this period (9th - 12th) to spread Islam in Nigeria.
