ok

I'm also preparing for fall 2024. I guess yours is self funding right?
.
PhD is research based so it's going to be 80 to 90 percent if not 100% fully funded. If it were masters which is course based or some might be research based though not many then I will be worried about funding.

that's the most insightful nairalander I have ever come across.
At times I go through old threads and come across his/her comments and be smiling especially on religious section.
Why is she no more on nairaland?
And for the record K0b0junkie is Tpia 's opposite version

Live in your parents house for as long as you want as long as they are not chasing you and you have no means of getting your own personal space.

To the idio..ts saying it is not a good thing on this thread, get lost, all of you.

End.

There's a certain irrationality they both share. I guess thats where their similarity lies.

A lot of people have left Nairaland for different reasons. Soldier go soldier come, barracks remain.

I moved out of my parents house at 16, not because of anything but because my dad was too difficult and we didn't get along. Didn't want to be in his shadow.

For the next 2 years I was in the streets of Aba, from MCC to Osisioma, to Ariara to Ngwa to Umuojima joggling between 2-3 jobs.

I gained admission and would only go home for maybe a week or so, other days I was busy doing my own thing.
After I finished NYSC, i invested in a right business which turned out to be wrong and I went flat broke.

I moved back to a single room and started doing all kinds of things to survive. It was so bad that I had to go back to my parents house for one month before I got my shit together again.

Honestly as I tell you, there were some of my friends who were still in their parents house until they were 30, but now they are so rich and successful that I don't even come close at all.

The point is, whether you leave your parents house at 16, 26 or 36.

What works for everyone is different. Some guys are making 10Mil monthly and they are still living with their parents.

Some just love the company of their parents. Don't pressure anyone, let people live the way they want
This is the best comment i have read so far

What man under 70 is looking at ages 32 to 39? You are comparing apple to orange. Abeg what do you know about men? I would rather date a lady residing with her parents than independent living. At least at home she can't open leg anyhow popsi must involve!

You have the audacity to ask me, what I know about men when you men can talk about women all day? Geroout of here.

How exactly can you date? She can't stay over and you can't either

Depends on what is the role of the guy in his parent's house....
Inshort, some guys run away from there parents house just to divide the responsibilities associated with living there, with that, they tend to first solve their own responsibility before listening to the cries of their parents....

Most guys staying with their parents are more well to do than guys staying alone.

I can only speak against some guys that stay in their parents house without making any meaningful contributions or waiting for their parents to still feed and cloth them at that age

Real estate job hardly pay as you think. If you are not connected you hardly make sell. Though it depends the area you specialise

So if I work with PwC Lagos and my parents have a property in Surulere, should I rent an apartment? What about when I manage the family's business in Asaba and my parents have a big house there, should I still rent an apartment?

I think this discourse is dependent.

Can the 32-39 old afford to rent their own home comfortably? If yes, then living with their parents at that age shouldn't be a thing of worry or shame. It's a choice.

On the other hand, it is worrisome if the man is living with his parents because he has no plan B whatsoever. What will they do if things take a sudden nosedive?

After a while of being an adult, living with one's parents shouldn't be because you cannot stand on your own.

For now I donā€™t, to be honest you canā€™t receive high paying job from online just like that, unless you have unique service to render or product to sell, where u can connect through LinkedIn . Even my best friend stop picking my call as him blow. Bcus I might be a burden to him , since I donā€™t have product or service to render.

Very wrong, no parents should allow that, let him go find what he wants to do, business or vocation, they should support him
