The yoruba's call camel meat Rakumi.And i have seen people slauter camels for various feast and ceremonies. .Donkey is mostly from the north and any animal that can b domesticate can serve has food. We get pple wey deh chop dogs and cats and even some funny animals

The mass killings of donkeys have dramatic societal consequences in West Africa. The animals are a source of income and a means of transporting people and goods in rural and urban areas. Women rely on them to collect water and other goods, and without donkeys, children often miss school to help their parents with domestic chores. Many parents cannot afford school fees due to the loss of income caused by donkey trafficking.

You dey mind dem? There's even no law against eating any meat you desire here in Nigeria as long as it is not human meat. People are only foolishly discriminatory in this part of the world.

This is due to religious, cultural mindset, and largely societal influence. Most of these people shouting donkey donkey comfortably eat dog meat which most societies frown at.

And also because most of them also were born without a traditional mindset (how it used to be with our grandfathers) and were mostly restricted to fish, beef and chicken (mostly in yuletide seasons), they cringe when they hear monkey meat . Same reason they don't know about ducks, guinea fowl, sheep, pigeons etc.

They only know cow, fish and chicken flavor all their lives. What a miss for them!
