Y’all thought I was joking about his ineptitude all season? This is something I have been wailing about from the start of the season. We have not even talked about throwing the correct lineup, use of time out and final 2 minutes adjustments. Man is a joke when it comes to coaching. I’d admit the players were poor but man, Mazzulla made class clown!
When they say it's better to keep quiet and let people assume you're a mumu than to talk and remove all doubt. He's exactly what we're talking about. Overall your Celtics are a very indisciplined team it must be said, I don't recall a team that lost 6 home games without even making the Finals. That's egregious

However there's also a smugness and arrogance I sense with Mazzulla. This is good when you have conviction and know what you're doing not when your clueless like he is.

The problem is not even in the lineup IMO. The problem is he's a poor man's D'Antoni and Daryl Morey that believe spamming 3s is the only path to success. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have bought into that philosophy and instead of these two big wings to become efficient midrange scorers they become inefficient 3pt spammers.

Look at Booker and KD the only two guys that gave the Nuggets any real problems. What did they have in common? Solid midrange game.

It's just like golf. Anybody can hit the ball hard and long but the short game is where it's usually won and lost for those who know

I'm with you on Ime. He was an arrogant prick tbh but a very good coach nonetheless and they shafted him like he did not make significant strides with the team. They treated him like anyone else could do what he did.

I have nothing against Mazulla and I know he is going to take a bulk of the blame but his players just don't have enough willpower and discipline to go with all the smugness.
They're not serious. All this cos they chose to side with a hussy. Unless he knacked the wife of the owner himself what is the sense in firing him. Does that undo the knacks?

The team had a lot of bad habits that Udoka was checking and looking at the players themselves they were very upset at Udoka getting axed. They're a very talented team but very much a work in progress. Sacking Udoka they must have arrogantly assumed anyone could just come in and do what he did forgetting the turnaround job he did to where they now see a title challenge as their birthright

Jokic is already a better player than Howard has ever been. Jokic is a phenomenal playmaker (top 5 all time in my book), a great scorer and rebounder and an adequate defender. Dwight was an all time great defender and great rebounder. But you couldn't run an offense through him and as a scorer we never got to see him at his very best because he adamantly refused in his prime to play an offense which maximized his ability. In his stint with the Lakers, he was told that his PnR scoring efficiency with Nash was number 1 all-time, and they hoped to increase the number of those sets run, but he refused and wanted the ball in the post because of his stupid feud with Shaq.
So Jokic clears for me and if he wins this title, he is going into top 5 center of all time discussion.

It's easy to say top 5 center all time until you have to remove one or two names from that top 5 centre list. You have Kareem, Wilt, Russell, Shaq, Hakeem, Moses Malone, David Robinson. And it gets harder if you consider Duncan and KG centers.

Did you know who has the biggest hands in the nba and how higher rank he get?

If he wins, then automatically he is already better than David Robinson. KG and Duncan are not centers they are both PF.
As for the rest as i said an argument/discussion can be made that he his top 5.
Jokic is an elite rebounder, as good a scorer as any of them in totality (his range of shooting helps him in this category). his only knock is that he is the worst defender amongst them. But, I will argue that the gap between his playmaking and everyone else's is wider than the gap between their defense and his.

PS: If he wins it, he will definitely be ahead of KG on my all time list

Monty Williams has agreed to join the Pistons as head coach on a 6/$78.5M contract.

Omolomo went to secure the bag. The best job. No pressure. Big money. Limited expectations and hopefully coachable players

The best situation after difficult time at the limelight with superstars. He can add to his resume if he helps them make the play-in.

Not sure how to read this separation between shannon sharpe and FS1. Was it initiated by Sharpe or Skip just decided to move on?

The separation doesn’t surprise me. There has been palpable tension between both, on and off the screen. It was obvious Sharpe could no longer tolerate some of Skip’s takes, shots which he deemed personal and antics. I think it came to its head during the Hamlin incident.

It reads like Sharpe pulled the trigger and sought a buyout. They will be together until after the NBA Finals.

Jokic is a mismatch in this series

The worst part for Miami is the pocket of spaces where Lakers wanted to send Gordon to, in order to minimize his impact on offense will be a disaster for them as this first half has shown. Sending Gordon under the basket with a smaller guy on him, with Jokic passing him the ball is just barbecue chicken for Gordon.
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 3:07am On Jun 02, 2023
Yeah this is looking like a short series. I've been wrong before sha but I can see certain guys revert to being pumpkins. And that Denver altitude man.

I looked it up. They have the highest percentage differential between home and road wins in league history

Shannon has probably gotten tired of being little boy'd.

Between the Brady and Damar Hamlin incident there's only so much you can take as a man. Even if someone gave you your media breakthrough doesn't mean they hang it over your head the rest of your life
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 3:15am On Jun 02, 2023
The way Jokic has manipulated this game. This is triple double without breaking a sweat.

He's on 15pts but you know he can score 30. Takes a special player to know what you have around and just feed everyone else while you sit on your 5 shots
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 3:16am On Jun 02, 2023
All that 3pt spamming by Strus. These one dimensional players undecided

The Denver rotation is so good that they can switch everything which has troubled the Heat, especially when you consider the Heat are so small.

And before I forget, Jokic’s footwork under the rim is a beauty to behold.
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 3:25am On Jun 02, 2023
The lack of size mean the Heat have to rely on the high P&R at the top and hope they can cash in with the 3 balls.

Coach Malone is teaching a class on how to attack the zone..

I hope Mazzulla is watching angry

The size disparity is going to be a problem all series long.

The Heat have heart sha but when Jamal Murray is the smallest guy in your opponent's rotation you know you might be in for a short series

The only way this series is close is if the Heat shoot as well as they did in the Bucks and Celtics series. If they can shoot at that clip then I will accept they are a team of destiny
