OmichaelO:He "has" to. That's the ideal normal process. Ofcourse quite often they don't bother or check but who knows when one may meet an over zealous border agent? |

hustla:No, enlistees need to have valid residence rights to be eligible. A stint in the army is a great segue into many industries like consulting. Employers value many of the skills that would have gained/developed, which are also transferable. |

OmichaelO: . I believe you never had to. I never had to as well since the first time I travelled to the EU on a visa years ago. I had a visa to a different state but I arrived in CDG. The border official asked why I said I was leaving to my destination and only connecting. He asked for my connecting ticket. When I couldn’t provide it initially, he asked me to go back. Lol. Go back where after I just flew in. Stepped aside connected to the internet and he still was insisting that the terminal was closed until a colleague stepped in This was an even that I personally had to go through once. Haven’t suffered similar since but I always advice it’s better to err on caution especially for first time travellers. |
