Being poor is not an excise for being terrible with the ball as a team.
It’s not an excuse when it’s fact

Super eagles are not strong on the ball

And you’re here throwing tantrum that the junior team suffers from the same deficiency

Look at the game Argentina u20 are more sound going forward than our very own super eagles and you’re here blaming flying eagles for not matching the pace of Argentina ball to ball

Bro you’re a joker

We were totally outplayed. Defending is hoping the opposition side not convert. We were totally dominated.
the end result is the Koko hun ,,, if we had lost , this place will be filled up with vile comments and castigations especially from some monikers . But they are nowhere to be found but I trust them to search 👀 for an excuse for the win 😏😏😏

A team cannot have a tactic of let's hope they don't score. Lol

The game plan today was clearly to stop the Argentine players playing triangles at the edge of the box so they can resort to crosses and shots from long range! As they attacked our defensive positioning was to show them there was an easier route to progress the ball through the flanks, but doing that meant they had to cross the ball which is exactly what we wanted or recycle play buy passing back to the halfway line.

Whilst executing that tactic we also had excellent holdup play by both players who played as no.9 following delivery from the keeper. This helped the team move up the pitch easier and with less risk than always trying to pass from the back. The personnel in this team is perfectly suited to counter attacking football and I think that explains why they were a bit rubbish against Dominican Republic.

Argentina played triangles at the edges of the box all day. Worked them wide and created chances. If that was the plan, we were atrocious at that.

I said totally dominated. Dominated in play.
So, how many goals did they score with their domination? Did their domination advance them to the QF?

They didn't. They barley managed to maintain possession once they got to the edge of our box.

The longevity is the Koko. We can't build a quality pool of players playing this way. Which player there do you think can break into the Super Eagles?

Remember, after Nigeria 99, Ikedia and Aghahowa broke into the Super Eagles. After 2005, Mikel and Taiwo became household names.

You can't build quality this way.

That is throwing players inside the box, not stopping triangles.

Saying we're lucky doesn't mean we wrote off the lads' performance na. Ok, you yourself agree that our defence slept off sometime, why didn't Argentina score despite how much they tried? FFS, their wingers were sliding past Agbalaka and Bameyi anyhow.
we were majorly lucky after our goals. That luck talk is underplaying how these guys sweated it out to the 99th minute. I acknowledge both fullbacks were asleep sometimes but no end product from the argies. Same approach for counterattack team na. Why is our own now lucky just cos they went all prime Barca or man city on us after our 2goals?

Nope. Longevity is really what matters. We don't progress in the long run if we can't play the game.
Longetivity that you're referring to has nothing to do with our style of play.

In the near future, more of those Argentine players will be top stars. We can't expect same from players who are good at staying inside their box.

Longevity comes with style of play. You play a pattern that will keep the team improving. How do we improve by siting in the box?

I don't understand what you mean. I am saying that they couldn't successfully play triangular passes in our final third to create anything. Once they got there they had to go wide!
How many through passes did you count that they made following their build-ups?
Compare that to how many crosses they attempted, even after it became so obvious they they were not winning enough of those crosses they had to continue that approach because there wasn't another way.

How many free kicks did they win at the edge of our box?

They created multiple chances. Argentina had chances to score. Let us don't pretend as if we were flawless. We were dominated.

The entire gameplay is poor

The only upside is our high pressing from Argentina box 18

Maybe na the loyalty issue sha.

Players that struggled to get bonuses won't want to come work for a federation that owes even foreign coaches. Maybe that's why they are not interested. Nigeria sef.

Daga might be an absolute talent but we can't tell with the way he is playing.

He is only noted for defensive play and I don't see clubs fighting for that.

Chai... to say someone is lucky doesn't mean his/her effort is being underplayed.
Ok, there were chances where a very good team would take and punish us. The ball that hit the post, was it not due to luck? Those goal mouth scrambles nko, were we not lucky that the ball didn't go in?
Luck doesn't underplay efforts bro..
