The child will loose his true identity and will be like an outcast. U can't have another blood running through ur viens as a man and refuse deliberately to go against it for no real reasons. The lineage dies with that child if the man refuses to have other kids from other women. It's a lot deeper than just a name bro. Ur mom's family have their own names from their ancestry so does ur father. This is a curse on its own. There are natural laws to everything nature
Bro don't be deceived

Dumbest shit I've seen on the internet today.

Nigeria might be the only place where stupid shīt like not paying bride price is believed to have negative effects.
This one even expects bride price to be paid to a father that was never there.

Lmaooo

How can you go and pay bride price to father she did not accept or know ?
You go to whoever she want you to go or back out

. The bride price is not a form of reward to any father. It is a symbol of African tradition that a man wants to take a wife and as such he has to pledge to take responsibility of that woman. Are they no Elders in your village ?
Normal black people will always condemn they cultural way of life as evil 👿 but will want to do white supremacy wedding as the way of life.

Without our African tradition we are all doomed.
Reason why I don’t have white wedding on my list .

So it is the women you have to blamed here. What happens to all those men rejecting kids/ pregnancy and telling the women to go for abortion huh You don't have any words for them.

My take, you should talk to your fellow men that no matter how small they should always reach out and contribute something to the child/ children life no matter how small because of one of this days.
When did you want to talk to ur fellow women who sleep around even to the notice of the guy they are dating and when pregnancy surface, they will want to pin it to particular guy that financially ok rather than "fine Bobo" who really impregnated them?

Cultural way is to abandoned ur own responsibility and latter want to reap where u dnt so abi?

If the girl had died when you neglected her in the past, would you sit down and collect dowry on wedding day?

Dowry that would eventually hooked on his throat.

Men will deceive ladies in a relationship and the woman will be so free with him and so the sleeping and over sleeping begins.... When she gets pregnant, she shockingly start hearing stories from the man ... I advise that Sir should help encourage men to marry these women as much as possible , who do u want to leave her for?

Now, the woman gets to start her life all over again despite the shame and abandonment with a child or children, some twins and u come back to say they should pay brideprice to the man.

If we agree that bride price should be returned by women due to traditional consequences, for divorced women( NOT single mum's oooo--- that one is a settled matter as her child belongs to her father especially in places like SS SE Cameroon), don't u think the divorced mum has invariably bought over her head from that marriage and should be able to choose if the son inlaw to be pays bride price to her kinsmen or to the ex( if he still plays his role as a father from a distance such that she herself is almost benefitting like a wife).

Imagine a man I know who pays who pays N500,000 per year for primary school for each of his step kids( 2 children) though they bear his name now, and tomorrow one deadbeat dad feels entitled to the brideprice of the female kid, do u think this is fair? This is why Africa isn't growing as we discourage good men to take care of children abandoned by their biological dad's even when they are better though as Step dads.....The whites don't place unnecessary emphasis on this, they can even will their properties to children not theirs, their pets or orphanages.... But the black man who has this our archaic reasoning will not be able to do such since he feels all will be a waste in future.

You want to reap from where you did not sow?

This your mindset is pure non sense. There is no single sense in this writing

sirjamesjnr:
I feel compelled to respond to this topic because, in today's environment, we tend to think that anything is possible and act blindly without realising the ramifications of our actions.

This should serve as a lesson to any woman who decides to become a mother but she and the simp guy reject doing what is proper in the eyes of the law, tradition, and nature. Since it is your body, you can sleep with any man, but if you decide to become pregnant, please use common judgement.

I am aware that sometimes a man appears to be fully responsible, but once responsibility sets in, he looks for an easy way out. Please keep in mind that life and nature's forces will never offer you mercy, but you still have to act morally.

Having said that, the biological father of the girl is paid the bride price in the majority of Nigerian cultures. Tradition and nature take that into account, regardless of whether the father is a deadbeat. The only way an adopted father can collect the bride price from the prospective husband is if you adopt a daughter, either through a legal adoption or by marrying a woman who has a female kid from another man and whose father and his family remain unknown anywhere on our planet earth. This African tradition cannot be altered by your feelings, your resentment, your awakening, or modernism.

You can debate for all of time, but tradition is tradition. Brideprice is a custom that must be observed in accordance with tradition. I will counsel everyone engaged to maintain their position, to avoid the negative effects of custom, and to follow what tradition dictated. Nobody wants to be associated with a deadbeat, yet life may be a pain at times. Do the needful.

Let every single girl know the serious repercussions of having a child outside of a committed marriage. Life is dynamic.

Na wa for people blindly following traditions as if they are sacrosanct and ordained from heaven. Traditions are practices started by human beings based on their knowledge, beliefs and experiences at the times they lived. Some of these date back hundreds, even thousands of years ago when some things that exist today would have been seen as sorcery, devilry and unnatural! Twins were considered evil and killed in some cultures based on their traditions. We no longer do that because we know better today. Knowledge has increased, wisdom has progressed. My 2 cents. Ask about the history behind whatever tradition is being foistered upon you. Why do they do what they do? If it doesn’t make sense to you or you don’t feel comfortable doing it, and it’s not codified in the laws of Nigeria, start your own practice! In a few years into the future, your own established practice will become tradition within your established space of influence.
