Disrespect any Nigeria team at global stage at your peril!
Only children born in 2000s disrespect Nigerian team. I am still not happy we missed Qatar. You would have seen footy!

Even when we lost on international stage we give our all. Nigeria is a football powerhouse! Period!
This post is devoid of any sort of cap 🧢

Man in blue, I normally like your write-ups on this thread, (Fun Fact: Na you make me follow the thread seff two years ago, I've always followed as a guest) but since that day we won Argentina, everything you've been saying/typing no just follow at all...

We won Argentina is what matters, stop downplaying these guys efforts down to sheer luck! Without looking at the internet or stat books, tell me the percentage of possession between Argentina and Nigeria in the 2005 U-20 World Cup. How many shots on target for Argentina/Nigeria? How many chances were created by Argentina/Nigeria? I bet you can't, but the scoreline? You'd remember easily!

That's what matters in a game, it's good to play beautiful football, but na the scoreline matter pass! If we were on our way home now, you no go dey shout they played beautifully o... Finito ✍🏾

Bro, I see the game differently and I always maintain tactical superiority as the key. Yes, most times people celebrate scores but for a very long time, I see football as a long-term project. Most times, long-term projects excel more than short-term rushed deals.

What I am saying is that there is so much left for our players and the coaching team to do than us viewing it as we beat Argentina.

I am a fan of the Nigerian teams. A huge one, so I can't downplay their efforts. It is not an easy feat they did.

However, we were totally dominated in the game. We can't change that simple fact and that dampens my excitement. I want to see us dominate and win. However, if we dominate and lose, I know we are heading in the right direction.

I don't see what I am pointing out that is making many worked up.

But you'd agree that we've played some beautiful football against previous teams in these tournament, yes?
Each game has a different tactical approach, the Argentines "have history" of beating us at "EVERY" level of football, and to beat them, we don't have to dominate anything... It's almost like a law of football that Argentina will always dominate and beat Nigeria if we try to play their style of football... If you're sticking with this assertion, then you're saying Morocco's run at the 2022 World Cup was luck too... Playing defensively is also a tactical approach for "some" certain games... If we'd been playing like this throughout the tournament, then your point would've been very valid, but we played EXACTLY how we needed to play to win that match.

I watched our game and the way goodjoe was saying we were dominated throughout the game is half truth, we had our phase during the course of the game.we had the first chance through beji mohammed and we created other chances too

The second half we even played way better, after the introduction of umeh and sarki, of course the argies had better ball possession but we weren’t over dominated, we had our chances they had thiers

I am sure you are like this because its not nduka or amunke that is coaching this team, bosso is not your fav coach, even if he wins you will still find a way to downplay his success.

I see a very bright future in players like daga , fredrick , sarki and umeh,if they work hard no style of tactics can stop thier shine

We did what we had to do to win, not because we were stronger or developing. As for Morocco, if they keep playing defensively, they will also get swept off. It is about being dominant, and you can't achieve it by being defensive.

Finally, I don't believe that we can not select and train a group of players that can possess the ball, dominate and sweep off Argentina. I have never had that kind of belief. It is due to poor preparation and selection that we always have that weakness mindset.

Finito.

Don't take the tribal route. I have not said any of such. It is uncool to do that.

Just shut up, guy. We created the best chances before our goal.
After we scored, do you expect Argentina with their pedigree at that level playing at home not to press forward in search of a goal? Seriously or are you just being myopic?

How many chances did the Argentines created before we scored? We could have scored more on the counter too. We even hit the post first.

You are sounding stvpid trying to sound intelligent. Go and sit somewhere.

Actually, it is a huge misconception. After years of studying football, through guage of team strength is in chances created. Sometimes, chances are taken, chances are not. That is not down to team quality.

So in this case, 12 to 4 chances created shows the gulf in class between Argentina and us. This will tell you why we should not feel too excited.

Finito.

Argentina and Nigeria are never at par when it comes to football with the exception of the U17 level. Yes there is a gulf in class between the two nations and that is why when you play against a team of such quality and also playing then on their home ground, you don't go all out attacking and exposing your backline when you know you cannot Match them toe-to-toe. Infact, the boys didn't intensionally sit back, the Argentines pushed them back. The best tactics was what the coach applied which is making sure you don't concede and then hitting them when the opportunity arose.
It worked for us and we won 2:0. That is what matters most.

I repeat, I don't believe we can not build a side that can match Argentina at U20 levels in talent and tactics. It is down to our selection and preparation.

So, I said, we should not get too excited about the win because we were dominated and outplayed. It is so simple.
