You're limited to 12 hours driving daily, after that the uber app logs you out. I always have to reserve time for a trip home. Also, I have minimum earnings targets daily so I have to be efficient with the 12 hours i have.
As per cancellations, I can't say with certainty but I suspect Uber has some form of rankings at their end and they may give drivers some incentives.

When you calculate the man hours put into this stuff, the fuel burnt, number of trips you may need to do in other to make what can look like profit in a day, it will never make sense.
