So upon all the arbitrary selling they have done in the past ,yet they cannot raise 5 to 10 billion from their business to buy petrol from NNPC, alright then

This is all a strategy to monopolize the sector.

The more the merrier.

If you allow only big players, we will be at the mercy of those greedy capitalists that only think of maximum profit

You people don't understand, this subsidy issue.
This is how they do it.. All PMS are imported by NNPC.. Marketers buy from NNPC at certain rate. Subsidized by government.
So for now.. No marketer have been given license to import PMS.. They are still buying from NNPC at a rate without subsidy.
The issue marketer have now is something they are buying around 160naira from NNPC is now over 400naira so they Ned more money to buy.
So there's no way a marketer gain from subsidy directly.. Subsidy can only be stolen by NNPC. Which they've been doing.
The scanner is not Marketer it's NNPC

Re: Marketers Struggle To Raise N10bn For New Petrol Orders by fineboynl(m): 12:15pm On Jun 09, 2023
The major problem now is that all filling station meter is no longer close to been correct even in NNPC stations. When you buy half tank. It now way below the half tank mark. Go and buy 30L what you will get is around 15L.. reason why some station stop selling on gallon so that you won't notice.

We're they caught unaware? Tinubu said this countless times during his campaigns

The take off date for the subsidy removal was July 1st.

Tinubu's statement that the subsidy was gone was made to leave no one in doubt that the July date was sacrosanct but the statement lead to panic amongst the marketers who jacked up their prices with the NNPC now capitalizing on it to end the oil subsidy altogether.

Make NNPCL sell am for them for credit.

And the boss of NNPCL said that switching from importation of fuel and getting it from local refinery will cause the pump price to reduce. The NNPCL boss is obviously a lying criminal.

He never said that. He is on record as saying the opposite actually.

Secondly is there any local refinery currently working?

If obi was the one who took the subsidy off this fellow might commit suicide just to get attention just like they cried during goodluck. And the funny thing most people who came out that period were yorubas so they already had it preplanned that dangote will build refinery in lagos. More of the reason this bigot here is so happy with his king maker. Dont fool us boy u are the one who put nigerians into this mess

It's time we switch from expensive petrol running our day to day activities to cheaper & reliable sources like cng & It likes & no one will bother about Subsidy anymore. Which is why entrepreneurs like innosson motors are about to cash in but we need more automobile entrepreneurs in this space, ndi igbo, resist the urge to shalaye & get to work immediately, this is about to become a multi billion dollar sector, this has been your forth for ages. Get financing & get to work. Nigeria is bullish...

That's not how it works. Subsidy rebate claims are made by oil marketers. They work with NNPC insiders to present false claims but the claims are made by marketers.

For further understanding: the subsidy is not based on what you buy from NNPC. It's based on how much you sell at the pump, and it is paid after sales not before.

Before the price increase they paid for a certain amount of petrol ... which was not yet delivered. The price has now jumped and they are asked to pay the difference to uplift. I would expect them to raise hell about this ... but they are silent. Instead..... focused on giving reasons why we should expect and understand why they would be making us pay through the nose for oil products.

They probably thought everyday will be Xmas for them... They lived lavish lifestyles hoping things will continue being same.... Upon most already had products bought at 179 and sold to the masses above 500, they didn't find it right to save some money.... I just hope queues won't pop up soon

Another fuel scarcity?

Not really...! Those who can afford the higher cost of restocking will remain in business and sell to the public!

Those without the funds to restock will have to close up or get loans, or merge with others!

Even the demand has since dropped since May 30th!... With increasing alternatives for the public like gas, solar, etc, very soon, petrol consumption will drastically reduce!!!

It's a whole new reality for everyone!

They don't even need to merge they just do MOU and share the product... it is common practice in downstream companies sef

This publication is just alarmist.

no depot owner will close up they'll just rent out their tanks to those who want to store it and sell from there.

truly the price is affecting the small marketers but recently financiers have been pumping money there as their profits have actually increased
