Too much free time for young children breeds trouble. Edo Governor should vote up with a better solution.

At least wait to see what Govt. at the centre has prepared to cushion effect of subsidy removal before introducing yeye policies.

That State will become poverty capital of South South with plenty criminals by the time Obaseki completes his tenure.

Why reduce days instead of getting the state some buses that doesn't use Petrol and subsidize the rate..

In Lagos before even Fuel Subsidy ever occur student are always carried for free with BRT buses ...

Edo will never be Lagos truly....

Maybe the students should start using the remaining days to start farming or make dem too just join the Monday Sit At Home Crew.....

The one wey no fit go Farm will have enough time to enrol for HK....

Edo is about to be the Largest producer of Yahoo graduate from HK....
he has killed edo education since first term in office, kids dont even have chairs and in some schools in benin, communities gather money to pay teachers . this man is the worse form of governor i have seen all my life.

Edo children living the dream of other kids cheesy

I honestly don't think this is a wise move though. Very bad decision. How do you make a child idle for four days in a week.

They should have thought this through and come up with a better way of reducing the impact of fuel subsidy on these children and teachers.

some of our leaders need psychiatrists evaluation. This is nonsense.

Instead of him to buy buses and subsidise the fare. Very soon JAMB cut off point will be reduced t0 100.

Well it's not that bad.
But I think it shd be monday, Tuesday and Friday...
That way.. the days in btw can be used by the kids to revise or learn a vocational skill..
This Monday thru Wednesday ain't good at all..
The kids will b idle for 4days n return to school to forcefully integrate learning into their heads...
It's like a put in n dump kind of system.

As bad as this sounds, we can now see the consequences of the evil of our leaders perpetrated over the year's since 1960 ......
This is so bloody sad and I guess Nigeria has finally revealed herself a failed state.
This is beyond redeemable

Any Governor that truly loves his future Generation of People must put Practicall Business Study in the State Curriculum. Recently Starting small Business for your Child to learn by managing it is a must for wise Parents. School na secondary and never a must, Training a child to have Practical Business Skill is the No 1!
All Yorùbá Governors should have started implementing this as discussed before Election by now. This is Future, days of wasting Years schooling only to Graduate with no hope of Job is over! If your Governor is doing nothing to Help the Children and Youths into Becoming Business Persons, then he's not in terms with the modern Reality, and he loves Stagnancy of his People too much, impeach him!

So True.

This was how China became World Power.

which teachers please, obaseki reduced the state teaching work force by over 50 percent, go to army day secondary school, ramat park. no chairs no teachers, the people of ikpobal barracks, iwogban and new estate emply and pay teachers, this is a govt school at the heart of benin, so wherever you are in benin you can go and verify by yourself, in this onece upon a time great school, kids bring their chairs to school while some sit on the floor. this is just one of many, how about new era college that he closed the new buildings for no reason? should we talk about uhunmora secondary school?
baba, which edo state you dey?

Those criticizing the plan, first ask yourself, What's the quality of the training the kids are getting in the first place?
Is quantity better than quality? I don't think it's the number of days that matters but the quality of the teaching. Although I would've preferred they alternate the days the kids comes to school. That way they won't be too much idle time. Making them go to school Monday, Wednesday and Friday while giving them enough assignments for the 2 days they will spend at home is far better than the approach they have chosen.

I hope that this fuel subsidy removal will not result in primary and secondary school teachers embarking on nationwide strike like ASUU
