You are quite informed..Let them keep arguing and celebrating illusion. The only postive out of it is the employment opportunities that will accrue. Then we can still worry about about EI on the communities adjourning it as he has proven not to be very ethical when it comes to that.
dalaman:
Not true.

"Global refining margins — the gross profit for processing one barrel of crude — typically hover between $2 and $5. Sometimes they go negative. Sophisticated refineries, with greater flexibility, are able to process lower-quality crudes, or produce more high-valued products, can do better."

The gross profit NOT the net profit is 2-5 dollars per barrel. The net profit will be less than a dollar.
The net profit is the real profit not the gross profit

Igbo man will never put his money into nonsense that he can never see.

But these sofistikated people from the west that claim to be the most educated will jump at anything to get rich and they end up getting poorer like Pa Ayoola.

Later when his mate in the south east puts his money into something viable and it reaps fruit for his children after he is gone, they will say it is money rituals.

I do not blame anyone who fell for this. It is not even greed. How else do you hope of retiring and enjoying without investments? Like that accountant, he must have done his background checks. He must have seen that the company is into actual agriculture and investments. He must have seen that they have a world class cashew farm that even the governor of Edo state, commissioned. Anybody that is serious about investment can fall into this kind of scam. The scam is too clean for you to see loopholes. People that have not invested a kobo in their lives, will come here to mock others.
Exactly the point. "Anyone can fall for it"

it was a well organized syndicate

I would have fallen for it too, but the 20-30% return made me skeptical.

Recently my paddy was telling me of one popular rich fellow that has lots of clubs and launched one equivalent of alomo betters, how he was invited by hehefcc and how he settled 2b.
Those guys would have settled those that they have to and hence everywhere is quite. If olapa were really after them, na to declare them wanted and they will be fished out by interpol, any airport they land, their name will trigger when they present their passport.

Dumb ass people. When we bring ideas they don't buy but fraud shit is where they put money at. Breakfast served hot
This is the problem. Everyone has 'ideas', some genuine and even well intended. However ideas alone do not translate to a successful enterprise and before you seek 'investors' it is important to prove success. This is the million dollar question (no pun intended) all over the world of venture capital, proof of success.

Reading through the varied 'victim's statements', one string held them all together over the fire, not a single cashew nut, bunch of bananas or bag of rice, leading me to wonder, exactly what were people investing in.

But truly I don't think these guys intention was to scam. I think they just ran out of money. I have been to their shop on admiralty way Lekki and it is beautifully situated facing the water. The product is good quality and they employ a lot of workers. Upstairs is a restaurant and downstairs a juice and muffins bar and middle floor is the supermarket. Then one day a few months ago I went in and the shelves were empty and it looked like they were packing out and running. Even the frontline workers looked confused and didn't know what was happening. I bet they do now. I asked the guy in the bread and wine section if they were closing down and even he looked befuddled and confused and didn't know what was happening
Which farm is there on Admiralty way or are we talking about the same thing.
Is this not supposed to be an agro-business.
How many that invested ever saw a farm with crops growing or being harvested?
Na waoh.

Only an ignorant or greedy person would not see a potential fraud or an unrealistic return on investment to get fooled by these people. An investment or business that you don't play hands in is a let go cause you don't get no knowledge, experience and some new ideas or even profiles if it crashes contrast to a venture you also involve in running. These victims don't even know nothing about the business or how the money is been made they just think magic happens and money comes. It doesn't work that way

How much is Tomatoes , that someone will be promising 20- 36 % ROI . Sad to hear many people were defrauded.
Funny enough I doubt perishable products like tomatoes were advertised like that it was stuff like catfish, soya, rice, poultry in different forms etc.

Either way the ROI was the problem from my view because some of them truly had farms or my 2nd postulation is they got so much funds they began to embezzle out of it.

Imagine a farm raising 50-100 million plus within weeks, so much money.

It is unbelievable how Nigerians scam fellow Nigerian in broad day light and Government is not doing anything about it, especially when these schemes are advertised as legit businesses seeking for funds to run these businesses with a promise to repay investors with interest.
Schemes under these names should also be called out because the same situation is what is playing out now; PAY FARMER and GROUPFARMA.

Sola Olunowo of Agropark is another scam like this. So also Taiwo Oluwadahunsola of Green Eagles Agric. They better return people's hard earned funds or they suffer irreversible hot curses 🔥

Dangote refinery is in the same league with these fraudulent companies in reality. Let me explain. We are now in an enegry transition era, refineries are now low profit margin businesses. Infact White people don't build refineries anymore, and the few ones they built in the past 10 years are all not more than 250bpd. Check out all the refineries world wide and see their profit margin despite high crude oil prices. Dangote went and built a 650bpd single train refinery knowing very well that refineries don't make any serious profits anymore, he sent the liar and scammer Godwin Emifiele to lie that the refinery has started paying its debts. Which is an outright lie and a fraudulent claim.

Once the refinery starts operating, he will Issue and IPO and people will run to go and buy the shares, that will increase his personal wealth to over $50 billion. The refinery will no longer be based on the profit or loss it brings but based on the shares that are traded. Its a ponzi, but a legitimate one because we live in a world where might is right.

Elaborate scams always make people fall for them.
Who will ever call a company commissioned by a state governor a scam?

Unfortunately others are on their way to scam more people

Nigerians are too gullible ...even though our youths are many in the 419 business , our people are too gullible ...we fall for any business venture especially if the return is so high . Everyone saw how MMM ended some peoples life .. they didn't learn from it.

There is one called Oxford that operates with several offices in gowon estate ...he goes with many securities ...you might even thunk he is the owner of Nigeria. Many times his field staff will approach me with there flyers stating all there business ventures ...I know many guys whose money are hanging in that establishment ...Pls shine your eyes ...anything that gives you big return quickly is not always a legit business

The way I see this, those scammers were not wise, they may be smart. It's either they started with good intentions and then decided to run away with people's money when they saw the size of their financial portfolio.

If not the above, then it's damn foolish of them to have engaged in such a destructive move, cos if the curses and other negative outcomes that may ensue. Even if they started with the intention of scamming people, the size of their customer base, financial strength, goodwil and the expansive market should have made any reasonable person to have a change of criminal mind and follow a genuine path. They may laugh now, but they will surely cry later.

This was how Forex Farms, Chymall et al mesmerised people and ran away with their monies. I am presently looking at Dynace with a 7D visor...
