Proud of Finidi Goerge's achievement and I hope this serves as a call for our other tacticians like Amunike, Siasia, Oliseh, Amokachi, Eguavoen and others to focus on giving back their knowledge to the younger ones.

Also hope the footballs authorities improved investments, incentives for the local leagues. And, I will like a percentage of transfer fees going to managers to motivate them to hunt for genuine brilliant talents than just winning titles and make money from their sales.

Which part of the world does this your bolded recommendation?

Nzogbu Nzogbu Enyimba Enyi! Congrats People's Elephants.

Congrats also to Remo Stars a fantastically run club.

All the best to Nigerian clubs that will rep the country in next season's CAF competitions.

Remo star is an example of spending money on training facilities, on coach development and youth teams. the owner of remo star is making a whole of profit from this development.
I hope other NPL team look into this and not turn the team to political appointee team where it serve as rewards for politician that supported them.

Philosopher1979:
MY THOUGHTS ON DIVINE NWACHUWU

The best way to integrate him is to arrange 2 or 3 friendliies and simply play him for 90 minutes
in midfield.
He should also be taken to the nations cup.
Unfortunately what will happen is that he will play for 10 minutes against siera leone and
then run away to Latvia and then nobody will call him up again
and the next talent in our local league will be called up hyped and head again to lithuania.
We need to integrate him into our midfield and see if he does well.
If he does well then iwobi has a complement or replacementt
if he doesnt then we can move on.
If we dont integrate these home based players then they are just filling up space
we are wasting our time and one hungry football agent wants to cash out
by selling our players to some obscure league.
Someone needs to convince him not to rush to all these obscure leagues in Europe
A good african league such as moroco or south africa will be good for him
or if europe Belgium, turkkey or greece.
He must be mentored and monitored before he goes and sits down in the Latvian league and
nobody hears of him again.
INTEGRATION IS THE KEY FOR LOCAL BASED PLAYERS
CALLIING THEM UP WITHOUT INTEGRATING THEM IS POINTLESS
It is easier said than done. The early we understand that there are pressure for these players especially those that doesn't have age by their side the better. It is about monetary value to them. Nigeria is a poverty capital of the world. How much is he collecting at his club? Less that $1k. Per month
Now imagine one club offer him $5k per month. With good accommodation and exposure to other European clubs. You think he will keep thinking one club in top 5 league will come for him?
Don't forget some of them are bread winner for their family.
Don't forget only 1% made it to the professional level.
Nigerian now see football as means to an end now.
You can see people collecting loans for their children to get into trial with European clubs.
It is not about fun but business !

You're way off the mark man. Jezz! This boy signed his first professional football deal at 17 with Birmingham a club he's been with since he was 8yrs old. Players sign professional deals at 17.
How can you deceive your audience saying his shirt number was retired just because he signed a pro deal with his boyhood club?

For crying out loud, Jude Bellingham was a star boy of the city of Birmingham (the 3rd largest city in England after London and Manchester). He almost singled handedly saved them from relegation winning man of the match almost every week. As a gesture to inspire others kids from their academy they made a preemptive call to retire his number. His relative success with England and Dortmund in addition to his €110M Madrid deal means the club’s management were absolutely right to bank on him.

Actually it was well before that probably at 15.

At age 16 he had played 41 games in the Championship for Birmingham City FC, that's essentially astonishing.

Sadly it won't change as State governments continue to run clubs.

I wonder why for a club like Enyimba the Abia state government hasn't tried a kind of PPP model so that ex-footballers, business men can invest heavily in the club. They will in turn spend heavily to upgrade training facilities, improve the youth team setup and scouting. Imagine Aba as the Mecca for youngsters of SE extraction to come horn their skills. The potential money to make from selling such players would be so enormous.

Look at Remo selling Ebenezer straight to Inter and you can bet they would have put a percentage fee into his contract whenever he's sold to other clubs in the future.

Good intentions but a bad idea. Conflict of interest will be rampant. We already have people who are skilled at scouting and discovering players. Coaching on its own is a tasking job that should take the full attention of a manager 100%

Incentives are a big part of coaching. Unless we are raising the fees for the coaches high, there has to be an incentive to keep them working here.

well a 6'3 defender who is very imposing on the goal and has a crack for header as he scored 8 goals in 36 apps, well he rejected rohr terribly at first for the 2018 world cup but changed his mind being he is 25 and Germany doesn't need him, would be an upgrade on our center back

He would perfectly replace Ekong

That's why we have winning bonuses that should be enough incentive. Coaches getting involved in player transfers is a rabbit hole you don't want to dive into.

They aren't. Birmingham is the biggest club in West midlands, far bigger than Newcastle. They aren't just where they are supposed to be. This club was formed in 1875.

I will prefer a scenario. Mourinho has pulled some and I don't see it as a rabbit hole Mourinho did not want to get into.

To the best of my knowledge, when Mourinho went to Chelsea, Ricardo Carvalho who was also under Jorge Mendes joined Chelsea. When Mourinho moved to Real Madrid, Carvalho joined him at Real Madrid.

Coaches at the academy level gain from the development fee when transfers take place. Same with the academy. If we want raw talents of high grade coming out from our local leagues, I think a development fee clause will benefit them and reduce them flirting with agents to field players for kickbacks.

Unfortunately we don't anchor ⚓ prominence and capacity on history.

As it stands Aston Villa, West Bromwich , Wolverhampton W, are all much bigger clubs than Birmingham City.

When a player who publicly rejected Nigeria after several requests. Decides to have a change of mind , l wonder why ❓

Jordan Torunarigha, was far from outstanding in the Bundisliga and decided to drop several places in a far less competitive league with limited quality, the Belgium League. That's because he is not that good to be honest.

It is more like, " Water 💦 don find Level 🎚️" he is never going to be called to the German national team.

He is probably better than Omeruo but quality oustanding he is absolutely not.

Tosin Adarabioyo is way better than him

Decides
he’s not even better than omeruo, the edge he will have ahead of omeruo is that he is younger. The two that I believe will bring quality to super eagles defense are Uduokhai and Adarabioyo but the former seem to be injury prone. Also Igoh Ogbu’s inclusion will be good too

Even at Ghent he is not a regular

Because Omeruo and Awaziem are in the list but in my opinion are expired and have always been questionable quality.

the matter still dey bother me how omeruo will just settle for laliga 2 and he seem very comfortable there

Is it that some of these players hv bad agents or they aren’t good enough to attract decent top flight clubs?

Defenders like omeruo and awaziem are good enough to play for atleast midtable German and French clubs
