He has been the senator representing Lagos West for a while so in this just concluded election, he wanted to contest for Ogun State governor but he didn't get the slot so he was asked to start from the Senate first since he just returned back home " Ogun State " from Lagos. It's very possible as a Yoruba to be elected in Lagos and their indigenous states. All Yorubas are considered "indigenes" of Lagos.

Now you understand why all Yorubas up to Kwara and Kogi West are defending Lagos.

Forget about Yayi cos we from Ogun Central go use sentiment to knock his ambition. He only campaigned for himself and Tinubu, no regards for Gov DA and you think Ogun East people would let it slide?

Akinlade would have been the best from Ogun West but the way Amosun wanted to lord him over others relegated him.

What oversight did Yayi do about the dilapidated Sango Ota road even though contracts upon contracts have been awarded for that same road.

But I know if you enter Lagos State House of Assembly, 85% of the lawmakers there are Yorubas that are qualified to hold a similar post or even become a Governor of another state, their home state gangan.
