He was the senator representing my area for Alimosho, Lagos.

No big deal there. Any core indigene of Yorubaland can contest for any political post in Lagos state and win. The person might decide to go back to his main state of origin and contest for another post of his choice.

Check the governors of Lagos State from 1999 till date only one of them is main indigene of Lagos State. While the rest are either from Ogun, Osun etc.
