It's just an appointment. Book for 2.
Your child will need a separate visa application form anyway.

A date legally has to come within 3 weeks. If it hasn't, call the embassy.

have you tried contacting the visa officer from your school??
i dont think you should be in a hurry. but if the childs father is in germany already or if you can go first, then your child can come on a dependent or family reunification visa

No I havent applied for any school yet, I want to apply for summer next year just booked only appointment date today. No her dad is not in Germany, its just me and her.

I just applied for a Ph.D program that the start date is 1st October this year 2023. Am I supposed to apply for visa immediately or wait for the offer of admission? The program is meant to be fully sponsored. Your opinions will be appropriated.

I just called the Consulate they said the visa for my child is Family reunion

So after you book category B for yourself then you went ahead and book family reunion for your baby. Will the appointment date fall on the same day.
