Except you want to play dumb, you can't say that you don't know the people I'm talking aboutangry

No be today dem start to dey groom Yayi for governor. Infact he was supposed to succeed Amosun back in 2019 if not for SIA's stubbornness, he would have succeeded.

And now that the people that want him there are ruling the country, SIA is no longer a threat, DA does not have the nerve to challenge them and Pdp is neither here nor there, the coast is as clear as day.

I agree that Yayi has no strong connection to Ogun state politics just like Dapo and we can see how DA's administration is playing out.

I don't want a man whose profile is all about being Tinubu's boy as governor either but then Ogun state citizens willingly gave the keys to their city to these Lagos vultures.

Shebi Obj is the problem, we shall see the difference these Lagos boys will make after 16 years in Isale igbehin angry

No big deal there. Any core indigene of Yorubaland can contest for any political post in Lagos state and win. The person might decide to go back to his main state of origin and contest for another post of his choice.

Check the governors of Lagos State from 1999 till date only one of them is main indigene of Lagos State. While the rest are either from Ogun, Osun etc.
is there any thing like "indigene of yorubaland"?

if there is, do lagosians have the same privilege to contest for any position in other yoruba states

who is the only governor of lagos state who is an indigene of lagos

what law provides for yorubas who arent indigenes of yoruba land to contest for any political post in lagos

If all the leaders of Ogun central gather and work against Yayi and Tinubu supports Yayi, he will win. Tinubu is President, permutations don change.

If all the leaders of Ogun West work for Yayi and Tinubu doesn't support Yayi, he will lose.

Thing is that irrespective of support, Tinubu usually expects candidates to display Omoluabi and respect for leaders on ground. That way, victory is jointly achieved and sweeter.

GNI still fine by me. For GNI to have won house of rep seat under Apc, he might be the potential successor of Gov DA.

Gov DA played along with all the jabs thrown at him by both Tinubu and Give Fayemi. Why always Ogun state question was also asked

Not actually interested in that discussion, Okan ni Yoruba.

Those jabs corrected DA's moral compass. He was already going astray before he was publicly corrected. This is the same DA that couldn't win ordinary Senate Primaries in Ogun East.

Let it be on record that this Senate may be worst than that of the 9th Senate. Any Senate that is an apron spring of the executive, can never be patriotic to the citizens but to individual they're protecting and that was what happened in the 9th Senate. An arm that suppose to be a check and balance to the executive and law making for the administration of the country, now become a lapdog to the same arm to checkmate.

Are you advocating for a confrontational national assembly? A N/Assembly that would work at cross purpose with the Executive? Is that one you want? It's me and you that would suffer for it. Most of you guys seems not to understand the workings of governance. There are times that the president would sit down with the VP, Senate President and Speaker House of Reps over crucial national issues that requires urgent attention and approval of the N/Assembly. This is where collaboration is critical, not a N/Assembly that works at cross purpose with the Executive.

Mr. Man, since 1999 no indigene of Lagos has ever become a governor. Tinubu is from Osun, Fashola is from Ekiti, Ambode is from Ondo, the current governor is from Ogun. However, I like the way we always deceiving ourselves thinking we are deceiving people around us, as to look smart and aimed to be politically correct.
This your assertion would have been correct if you can point to one Osun man that have contested election and won in Ogun state or one Ekiti man that have contested election and won in Oyo state. The peculiarity of Lagos and FCT makes it easier for non-indigene to be able to contest in both states and have headway but very difficult in other states of the federation. Let somebody from Oyo state says he wants to contest for any position in Ogun state, as close as they are and see what will happen, if they won't direct him to where he came from and tell him what he never heard of himself.
If the indigenous people of Lagos are many like other states, the possibility of people from neighbouring states having privilege to hold political positions would not be possible. As is it today in Lagos, the non-indigene overwhelmed the indigene.

You're the one advocating that by your own comments. The 9th National Assembly that was a rubber stamped Assembly, what was the impact on the ordinary citizen of this country? No one says the executive and the legislature should not have a good working relationship when it comes to issue of national importance but not on issues that require proper scrutiny on the pros and cons to be filter out. The National Assembly is to help the executive to think out of the box and not to help it to be lazy dude. That is what has kept the nation on its kneels till date because the executive cannot think beyond the immediate. Taking for example, the issue of this subsidy. Any serious government would have known that lack of functional and optimally working refineries is what is causing the huge amount expending on subsidy. A serious government would have found a way of revamping the refineries than passing their inadequacy to the citizens to pay. If the countries they are taking the crude oil to to refine doesn't make their own refineries functional would they take the crude oil there for refining? This is just the simple logic but non is thinking in that direction but passing the buck to the people.
We cannot continue to aprobate and reprobate at the same time and expect improvement in the affairs of the nation. Let the right thing be done and you will see boom in all aspects of our national life.

You mean, a single person represent two different states, in the Senate at different tenures?

Does the constitution allow such?

If Yayi could do a two-term in Lagos and doing a term in Ogun State, It means Lagos is truly a no man's land only to people of the southwest. You should have your head checked if you think otherwise.

Also, i love the way Yoruba's are united among themselves, we Igbos should strive to emulate.
Mr. Man, which Yorubas are united among themselves please? Let a man from Ekiti go Ogun to contest and come and see what he will receive from the owners of Ekiti state. The peculiarity of Lagos makes it possible for non-indigene to have headway in Lagos politics. The real owners of Lagos are minute while the non-indigene overwhelmed the indigene.

I have been expecting to see what you wrote from Paragraph one to two but no one wrote it from page one to nine of this thread. The followings are the reasons why the chances of Yayi become governor of Ogun State in 2027 a 50/50 chance I.e it's either Yayi or someone else God wanted

1. Yayi has been present in Ogun State politics for the like 8years now, there was a time there was Yayi group across the state, this same group Yayi left back to recontest Senator in 2019 elections are the same people who are in the helm of affairs of DA administration, they make major political decisions for DA. They are all Yayi loyalist who continued from where Yayi stopped and used their structure for DA to enter the first time starting from our Rt. Honourable from Obafemi/Owode Local Government.

2. All the Ogun State House of Assembly members from Ogun West (Yewa) are Yayi loyalist. It's either you are for him or you loose your ticket because he has penetrated well in Yewa and they know he call the shots through his people working closely with DA. Even the 3 lawmakers who got elected through GNI ADC in 2019 switched to Yayi camp after decamping to APC. They never supported Yayi against GNI for Senate. They now later arranged Rep for GNI and Tripple A who are also Senate aspirant

3. All footsoldeirs and strong local politicians who are influencial are with Yayi. He is taking care of them. Rice and money are always given to them during all the festive seasons and odun throughout the year for the past 8 years. Pls I am not talking about past legislative members or reps who are either in abroad or Lagos who doesn't have influence in their constituency or Local government again

4. Many appointments holders in the last administration from Yewa and Egba( Ogun central) are yayi nominated

5. During presidential primary, All delegates from Ogun west (Yewa) voted for BAT as directed by Yayi against DA's wish who wanted Osinbajo to have all Ogun delegates votes. They almost quarrel that rumours has it DA have to calm down so they can the votes in Central and to avoid it affecting his voted from Yewa for his own re election.

6. Yayi understand Lagos politics well and he is doing exactly the same thing in Ogun State. All that Local politicians wanted are money, recognition, spending time with them, sending all festive season give to influencial leaders not the one Ogun State leaders will be asking a ward to share less than 10 bags of rice at times for salah. If you think all these doesn't matter to politicians, you are on your own

7. Leaders and appointments seekers in all round Ogun State want to associate and come close to Yayi because he is the only influencial 2027 Governorship aspirant in Ogun for now.

Ire o. Hand dey pain me. I know some people wey no sabi go still argue
