I’m not a Jaga fan and did not vote for him on Feb 25 even though I expected him to win. But given his antecedents as Lagos Governor, as the face of PDP opposition and his current sweeping changes, I’m hopeful that we will see a lot of positive changes in the country. I hope he works hard in uniting the country as PMB was very divisive. And I hope he entrenches true federalism based on institutional changes rather than based on a strongman as the head of government. Hopefully other ports in the south are fully developed to maximal capacity such that non-Yoruba southerners can live in their states and import whatever they require for production without having to come to Lagos. That way Yoruba and Lagosians can enjoy Lagos while non-Yoruba southerners can also enjoy their states without having to derogatorily refer to Lagos as “no man’s land”
