Deltamani:💯 who no like better tin!! Football is a short term career, unfortunately many people don't have the patience to wait for Eldorado, they would rather grab whatever is available. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 7:23pm On Jun 16, 2023 |
AndSunGorilla:Yes ooo, That’s why they run to Belarus, Israel and Co for $1000 to $1500 a month plus little little bonus cause the $200-$500 they get here at maximum sometimes hardly come regularly except the likes of Rivers, Bayelsa, Edo, Nasarawa, Confluence that pays regularly and higher a bit. |

lovewins:Mehn u are trying to change the subject. Her first point was absolutely valid, who releases a final list without 1 single training session? Then u have Deborah Abiodun who has been balling for years and getting ignored but once she agrees to play for Waldrum at Pittsburgh she makes a world cup? This is a player that only played once or twice in the league. Make it make sense. |

Deltamani:Who will be the female Ahmed Musa this time? Echegini? Oshoala? Desire? |

Why do you need a training session to release a final list? There were at least 5 or 6 countries that released their final 23 without a single traiing session. After Nigeria had played 5 matches in the past 4 months, the team was pretty much set. No need for any camp to determine who to pick. The lady's comments were completely irrelevant. Regarding Ajibola, which once or twice did Debbie play in the league? She was with Rivers Angels during their 2021 CAF Champions League qualifications and Campaign, as well as the FIFA U20WWC. So, why is she not deserving of a spot? Your performance video of her contradicts your comments https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqQVRGK4iFc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGZiMmi8EJM BascoVanVeli: |

BascoVanVeli:Basco, your submission is unfair bro. You know I am one of Randy's biggest critic here but on this one he is justified. First, many national teams didn't release a provisional list. Deltamani has updated this thread with squad list as they can out and only a few have provisional list, most just picked 23 straight up. That's because most coaches have used prior friendly games to access the depth of their squad and decided on who they'll go with. So to your first question on who does this, the answer I believe is most countries going to the world cup. Also, I didn't change th subject, I addressed the points she raised and even put in context that 4 of the players currently in the squad literally played for the NWSL months ago and their inclusion reflects more on the NWSL than the squad they currently represent. Can you at least acknowledge that? And to Deborah Abiodun, what you have basically suggested is that she was strong-armed into signing a deal for Randy's school and she's more or less not good enough to have earned her place in the squad. I don't even know what to say to that. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 8:10pm On Jun 16, 2023 |
Deltamani:Imo, this is a post WWC idea to be executed. I agree that the league is hot right now. So i see about 7 home based that can join the team and compete. Doesn't mean they are less or better. If they prove themselves, all well and great for the future, as most of them are young. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AndSunGorilla: 8:11pm On Jun 16, 2023 |
Deltamani:Seriously they pay female footballers like N350K ($500) a month in 9ja? You sure? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 9:28pm On Jun 16, 2023 |
AkinDS:When last have u seen Nigeria release a list direct like this? Why wouldn't an ex international speak out when u are going against the norm? I said she played 2 matches this season in the league before she went to Pittsburgh. That is not so hard to understand. If we are going by champions league and U20 Flourish should be invited for sure cos she played in the more recent champions league. I made those videos and I will continue to be a fan of Deborah Abiodun but this is total BS. The man used that spot to get her in his college. What is the difference between that and asking for money? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 10:27pm On Jun 16, 2023 |
NOOOOOOO NOT SAUERBRUNN!!!!!! She's one hell of an anchor for the US Defense. So is O'Hara still in consideration or is she still dealing with injury too? The blurb is unclear to me. USA 🇺🇸 in trouble😢

lovewins:Have we done it before? Why are u telling me about other countries. Your comment about Deborah is ridiculous. Don't try to emotionally blackmail me. I am the one who was crying that she should be selected for the last AFCON so don't come at me like that. If Debbie stayed in the league Randy waldrum would not have selected her just like he didn't select Flourish, Onyenezide and the rest of them. That doesn't mean she isn't good enough. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 11:34pm On Jun 16, 2023 |
Deltamani:That kind trouble. They will replace her and still be the favourites. I also like France with Mr White Shirt ![]() |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 12:09am On Jun 17, 2023 |
There is always a first time for everything. Doing it the 'traditional way' has never benefited Nigeria in terms of performance at the WWC, so nothing wrong it trying an alternative approach. Flourish played more CL and NWSL games, while Debbie played only 2 NWSL games before she went to Pittsburgh. So what? Flourish is not a critical need to the team - as a DM, Debbie is and so she made the team. Randy believed the quality of training at Pitt (and at US D1 Colleges) surpasses that in the NWSL, especially regarding the quality of players he wants on his team to prosecute the WWC. Makes perfect sense to me! Its funny - months ago during the qualifiers for the U20 WWC, you were adamant about Debbie being fast tracked to the National team (I recall debating you on this issue, citing she shouldn't be set up for failure). Months AFTERWARDS (U20WWC, two high profile international caps against the US and Japan, where according to you in your video, she performed brilliantly and was recruited by the University of Pittsburgh who offered a full ride scholarship), you now turn around and cry BS? The truth of the matter is she is deserving of her WWC spot. She has EARNED it! BascoVanVeli: |

AkinDS:How many AWCON titles do we have? Are u OK? Never benefited Nigeria is crazy. Which one is so what? U are the one who brought up champions league. Now u want to so wat me cos ur story isn't adding up. Outside Gift Monday, what out and out winger do we have on the team? Deborah training Stop the CAP. Cos Pittsburgh already had their spring ball which she was not a part of and that will be it until they get ready for the season. The NCAA is not professional football, they have rules against training year round. Deborah Abiodun already proved u wrong by getting those 2 high profile caps but i don't have a contract with her or anybody else. Right is right and wrong is wrong. U claim u didn't want to set her up for failure back then but now u agree she should make a World Cup squad after missing almost a whole season of action. Isn't that hypocritic? When she was playing in all these competitions u said she wasn't ready but now that she has gone to the US after missing basically a season of action u are all in ![]() |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 2:01am On Jun 17, 2023 |
As always, you seem to enjoy arguing for argument sake but unfortunately for you, your arguments are typically void of facts. Which NCAA rules are you referring to about training? Attached is the NCAA rule book - focus on 17.20.8.1.2 Out of Season. Hopefully, that would help ground you in some of the NCAA rules. Go back and read my comments - the discussion here was not about WAFCON, but the WWC. Stop trying to conflate issues. The two caps Debbie got were AFTER the U20WWC, just as I had previously advocated. You really need to go back and refresh you memory on our previous discussions regarding when Debbie should be invited to the National team. BascoVanVeli: |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 8:45am On Jun 17, 2023 |
AkinDS:Dude Pittsburgh are not training so stop the CAP like I said. The rules are there for all to see but u will never admit anything. Didn't u tell me she struggled at the U20 level Now u want to change ur stance to support ur argument. But I'm the one who argues for argument sake.

Deltamani:Just One thing, this Judith had been out of the game, or should I now said its jealousy or bias, who needs training when must of the buck, if not all of the players had played under the coach, Not once, not twice, but more that 5 times, pls that Lady should goan sit down |

Jojodjo:When Ronaldo did that interview with Piers Morgan. What happened? He too knew he wouldn't be returning to MUFC after that. The truth is that no serious club or country will allow any player that criticisizes the coach in public to remain in the squad. Disrespect will spread like a virus in the squad. Next you know is players rejecting substitutions or positions because they "know better". |

| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 2:41pm On Jun 17, 2023 |
Deltamani:I think people are just being sentimental and unfair. The criticisms of Randy are just bad faith. Most of the commentaries left out the fact that the list in itself is almost perfect, but rather focused on a player that they like who wasn't included. Will the inclusion of Okobi radically change the team? How is Okobi one of the most important in the squad? She doesn't even get to play in her club for God's sake. Why crucify the man like he made a mess of the list? It's okay to have reservations about Okobi's exclusion, but don't make it seem like it's the end of that world. Really glad that Randy won't have to deal with this in maximum two months time. I'm no fan of Randy, but people are just being unfair here. |

| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 2:51pm On Jun 17, 2023 |
Can you guys see why I have reservations about this Okobi She'll be going on Live with David Doherty in 10 minutes, most likely to discuss her exclusion from the team. I just do not think this is professional. She emotional right now (and rightly so) and is likely to make damning statements cause if her disposition. She's setting up herself to fail, a space could open up (God forbid through injury) and she won't be asked to take the spot cause of her unprofessionalism.

lovewins:Let her do the interview first. People want to hear what she has to say. There is nothing unprofessional about taking an interview. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 5:08pm On Jun 17, 2023 |
BascoVanVeli:Did you watch the interview? If you did, do you at least share my sentiments? I watched for the most part and I believe I was justified in my submission. She initially kept it clean, just stuck to how she felt about being left out. How that upon the conclusion of the season, she left Spain for Sweden (instead of Nigeria) to prepare for the World Cup almost convinced of her inclusion. Much of the insult to Waldrum came from viewers and not her. Sadly the temperature of the conversation shifted after a while. Thing is, when someone is still grieving as she is, they are at thier most vulnerable state and will more often than not say things they aren't supposed to say. She went ahead to say that though she doesn't think it's her right to be her the world cup, she "single-handedly scores the goal that qualified Nigeria to the world cup and those who didn't work or contribute to it have taken her place (I paraphrased this last part cause I can't remember verbatim). This are things that shouldn't be said of your colleagues no matter how justified you think you are. It fractures the team cause what she said in essence is she's more deserving than others (even if she didn't mean that). It's why she shouldn't have gone in that Live. Oshoala even tried to take her off it. She accused Doherty in the comments of putting her on the spot. She even had to hop on the LIVE to share why Okobi bearing her mind isn't the best for her. Opinions changed after that and many people started clamouring for the live to end as they could see reasons (some disagreed sha). |

| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 6:12pm On Jun 17, 2023 |
The Journos are divided over this mata. I think the bias of making a few players not worthy of going is what's adding fuel to this. 3players. Remove those 3 and argument direction go change and pro-Ngozi no go get mouth again. She gave hint that Randy started all of this by approaching her and saying she's not his kind of player to be in his team. If that indeed happened, then Randy is an inglorious........😥😥 Made her a rejected stone until Japan. As much as his selection is kinda okay to me, what is my crux is this man is not a sound game tactician or game reader. And this is the grandest of stages ever. This, to me, is the biggest deal. If he doesn't change this fear, he's hilda-ing for thousands of Fans to exclaim "we told you so" |
