This is a very emotional story, maybe it's because I never really grew up with a father; but one thing I'm grateful and proud of is, as a kid, I learnt a lot from him.

A lot of these things are starting to make sense as I get older, though, I tried to erase those memories but I know how important it is now.

I'll be using this story as an introduction in my book (I might delete the thread soon), I've been withholding that book for so long but it's time to do exactly what Robert Greene did.

So, my father once told me a story about a poor young man who was the definition of a honest person. He was hardworking and never depended on anyone to survive but he was barely able to eat 3 square meal a day.

He'd pray to God and ask him to "open doors" for him and elevate him from this poverty that has kept him in bondage. He chose to remain honest even when others were living large doing crime, he believed God's time was the best.

One day, something unbelievable happened. As usual, he started his normal legitimate hustling in the morning after praying for a successful day.

It was a bright morning, it was as if the sun knew something was about to happen but too excited to let the cat out of the bag...

And then, he found something — it was a suitcase and he became curious, he went closer. He was contemplating on what to do, he managed to open it and couldn't believe his eyes.

The suitcase was full of money, all his life, he had never seen that much money — it was just too much to be real! He didn't understand what was going on, how did this money get here?

He took it and was determined to find the owner because as a honest man, he couldn't stoop so low to take what was not his.

I don't know how he found the owner but he did find him and...

and explained how he found the suitcase. The wealthy man was astonished, it was just too good to be true.

"Young man, wow! You're a very good person"

"Thank you, sir" he answered with smile on his face.

"Why did you return it? You know, you could have easily taken this with you"

"Sir, I might be poor but I believe that God's time is the best and would never take what's not mine. I believe that honesty pays even if our society is riddled with corruption" the young man answered confidently.

"I'm very sorry but with this mentality, you'll never be rich — it shows you're not ready" the man said and walked away with the briefcase without looking at the young man twice.

This young man watched this wealthy man drive away, he was shocked and lost.

This story left me speechless and heartbroken because my dad had always emphasized on the importance of honesty.

My dad and mom would make me read a book "the fruit of honesty is God's blessing" and preached countless times how honesty is very important.

"Dad, why?" I managed to say.

"SuperOnyi, you won't understand but will as you get older" my dad replied.

"Daddy, I thought you told me that honesty pays... I don't understand" I asked again.

The feeling is still fresh in my mind, I was confused and heartbroken. Even though I was young, I understood what my father meant but I just needed to know the reason and some comforting words...

It was already dark and he had just returned from his shop.

I looked at his eyes and I could see sadness, I could feel it — it was as though, the story was his.

"Daddy" I managed to say again

"Don't worry, son. You'll understand as you grow older"

As years past by, the reality started hitting me hard and everything started making sense. I knew I understood what he was saying but I can't tell why I wanted him to continue...

Sadly, there was no "daddy" again to tell me stories or explain better, maybe guide my footsteps. It was me against the world.

I remained honest despite that but it always seemed to backfire every time, the vampires wasted no time in trying to suck away everything he had installed in me...

1. Money was created by man, it is nothingness created into something — it is value. Make money and watch the society that threw you into trashcan idolize you. It doesn't matter how you made it.

2. There are only 2 types of hustlers, you must call into one category no matter who you are; even if you're worth a trillion dollars. Nature has made it so, do not let the society deceive you. You're either a:

i. Predators
ii. Prey

a. Bigger predators
b. Smaller predators

ii. Preys are subdivided into:
a. Adaptable prey
b. Confused prey
c. Extremely vulnerable prey

3. You're 100% your responsibility, nobody cares — get to work. Nobody cares, work harder! They don't care about how you made it, the end justifies the means. The good guys will always lose and society will worship the bad guys.

4. Being immaterialistic and honest will not save you, nature doesn't care about that — this is the survival of the fittest and the weak will be consumed.

5. The rich will always play the law while you obey the same law because you've got no choice. They don't even have to do any crime to do so, if they need to, someone will always be there to do the job. They are the masters of disguising.

I'll stop here, he was right — it's a cold world, sadly, many will never find out the truth and even if they knew, they don't know the weight of what they've got.
