Fergie001 though said HE doubted him Appointing SW, however he put Closing sentence of Someone with capacity that can control the Generals so it's too early to conclude that Last statement
It’s not even a matter of debate.

I only pointed out that I was right that Tinubu would appoint a Yoruba as COAS.

I don’t intend it to be a dick measuring contest.

It is not only in Benue that farmers are being k.11led. Benue people should look inward.
It is more of Benue state’s internal political crisis than a national one.

I guess some people didn’t want Ortom to succeed, even though he too was not ready to succeed.

Well, thanks for that reminder "MyMother".

Even though I am from the Middle Belt, I am not actually from Benue. It is a nice place though...minus the herder terrorism .

To those saying soldiers won't take orders from Ribadu because he is police.
He contested to be president once.
If he won would They accept him as commander in chief?

This job is preparing him for that position one day.
He may be the next president

your argument has no basis. what have Maj. Isa Farouk Audu (N/14695)Commanding Officer State House Artillery and Lt. A. Aminu (N/18578)Second-in- Command, State House Armament got to do with fighting terrorism?

Lexydude....perhaps you do not understand Northern Muslim mentality.

IF you have a Fulani head an office--and that Fulani picks a daft illiterate from the bush to be his messenger. Even the illiterate messenger will suddenly grown horns and begin to exalt that position to the point of aggressively bullying people with multiple degrees around. I saw these with my eyes when I served at the Nigerian Customs Service years and years ago. And I saw the pattern even in the private sector too.

It is not really about the title of the position. It is about having some visibility even near the corridors of any power to be able to not only network with the old and new cabal of Arewa Muslim extraction--but use nefarious means to still aggressively push for destructive policies.

Do you think right from inside their hearts these State House Armament dudes will side with Tinubu when poo hits the fan and Shettima wants to also show he is boss?

you said "You want to end Terrorism on innocent farmers and yet you put these same people who will secretly back Terrorist to kill the same farmers?"

what has that got to do with the appointments of Maj. Isa Farouk Audu (N/14695) as Commanding Officer State House Artillery and Lt. A. Aminu (N/18578) as Second-in- Command, State House Armament?

I saw where someone has already corrected you that the new Chief of Naval Staff, Emmanuel Ikechuckwu Ogalla, is an Igbo man from Enugu State.

Meanwhile, I think the reason Mba didn’t get the IGP job is because of the explanation that Fergie had already proffered on the matter.

Recall that Fergie said appointing anybody from either the 1992 or 1994 set would mean the retirement of the 1990 set which they might not take so easily. That’s why Egbetokun, who is their mate, was appointed which retains them in service, and equally retains Mba in service.

Remember you were of the opinion that Tinubu would go for Jitoboh who had 9 years left in service which would have retired Mba. You even argued that IGPs are usually appointed from AIGs and that Tinubu was going to appoint an AIG but i countered you that a DIG can still get the job which later happened.

No, i didnt argue that it must come from the AIG ranks. I only predicted the AIG rank would get the post. My prediction was based on past appointment. The constitution was very clear in the police act; IGP must come from rank not below AIG and DIG. So any of the rank can get the post.

Secondly, Egbetokun is acting-IGP, boss. And we all know why he is the chosen one. His close ties with Tinubu dated back 1999 when he was his CSP. And we also know the only thing that played against Jitoboh, like i said earlier is that he is from South-South.

I still believe someone from the AIG rank will be the next IGP. This move by Tinubu is to reward Egbetokun for his loyalty, prepare the DIGs for retirement, and give them more time. Including Mba Frank.

But congrats anyways to the SE on the appointment of Ikechukwu Ogalla as Navy Chief. The man was sidelined all along in the Navy force. Nobody saw his appointment coming. Are you now convince now that Tinubu's administration is going to be an all inclusive government?
Re: President Tinubu Retires All Service Chiefs, Advisers, Customs CG, IG Of Police by J3susFr3ak: 9:18am On Jun 20, 2023
They might bear some influence on who eventually gets to be the GOC in the regional cantonments where the real terrorism at the grassroots occurs. A compromised GOC commander siding with herder terrorists only means a prolonged series of terrorist activities in those places.

Do I make sense now Lexy? Depending on where they come from--they are just one vector that a terrorist group like Miyetti Allah uses to secretly lobby.

I don't think Jimeta was ever NSA, Gwarzo was NSA though he came from the Police.

Gwarzo was the first Director of the newly-established SSS (as at then) before he became Police Affairs Minister and later NSA.

Gambo Jimeta was NSA to Ibrahim babangida. He was the first NSA after the the post was created by babangida.

Babangida administration was the first to use NSA. He introduced the ONSA. And he appointed Gambo Jimeta.

Jimeta was retired as IG in 1990 or so, cant remember.

meant for a retired general? Because?
Like Minister of FCT is meant for Northerner??
If a civilian can be commander in Chief and a university professor can be NSA in the US why can't a civilian be NSA in Nigeria?
The job is meant for ANY BODY that will PERFORM whether they come from Amotekun or Boys Scout doesn't matter

Performance is what matters and the retired generals have NOT performed

Expected and about time.

Let see how the new chiefs pan out and the attendant grumblings and sabotage that might follow from perceived aggrieved parties.

Just went through the entire list and can't help but wonder if this is how Tinubu intends to unite and govern a one Nigeria?

Why is the S.S. and S.E. regions ominously missing from the list of appointments...

This isn't right at all, no matter what.
1. National Security Adviser - Nuhu Ribadu --- NE

2. Chief of Defense Staff ---- Maj Gen C G. Musa - NW (Southern Kaduna)

3. Chief of Army Staff ---- Maj Gen T.A Lagbaja ----- SW

4. Chief of Naval Staff ----- Rear Admiral E. I Ogalla ---- SE

5. Chief of Airstaff - AirVice Marshall H.B Abubakar ---- NW

6. Chief of Defense Intelligence ---- Maj Gen Ekpa --- SS

7. Inspector General ---- DIG Egbetokun ----- SW

Before they begin to froth in the nonsense....

what is special about these appointments

First, it came in handy!

Unlike his predecessor who took almost six months to constitute this.

Secondly, he didn’t wait for the lobbies from the cabal to come up with these names

This is a bad news to the IBOs. The IBO prefers any appointment going to Yoruba to be returned back to Fulani. If no be IBO make e kuku go North, that is their logic.

Senator Francis Fadahunsi was an ACG under Obasanjo. He was supposed to have been made the CG of Customs but the CG was very humane. Obasanjo penciled down Senator Francis Fadahunsi as the next CG of Customs. Yaradua came and retired him and appointed another person as CG. That is how they have been retiring them.
So what has that and your stupidity gotta do with the Igbos?! Is late Yar Adua Igbo?!

I was never a supporter of Tinubu but now I support him wholeheartedly and I'm not Igbo.

Walk along and look for your fellow bitter soul to relate with, thank you very much

Can u pls show me any article that confirms your claim that it took buhari 6months to appoint service chiefs, advisers and CG of customs?

Is there any law that says an incoming president should change service chiefs and CG of customs?

I appreciate your preference, but saying the post is meant for a retired General suggests that the President contravened a law or a regulation with that action, we both know he didn't.

Tinubu made 22 appointments in a day. Only 1 went to Igbos.

And you want Igbos to celebrate that?
