I beg to differ.... Tenures of LGA chairmen will be ending next year by may or June. Are you saying that the position will be vacant till then? No I don't believe you on this.

PRESS RELEASE

SUBSIDY REMOVAL: RSG TO ROLL OUT TRANSPORT PALLIATIVE IN RIVERS STATE

...As Fubara Charges Labour To Embrace Dialogue

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara says modalities are being put in place by the Government to roll out transport palliative to cushion the high cost of transportation caused by the removal of petrol subsidy.

Governor Fubara disclosed this when the State leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) paid him a solidarity visit at Government House Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

Sir Fubara explained that the Ministry of Transport is already being engaged to introduce some buses to help reduce the high cost of transportation currently faced by the people.

The Governor who described the effects of the subsidy removal as temporary, urged workers and Rivers people to exercise patience as relief will come at the end of the day.

The governor said, "Rivers State is one of the states that have implemented the new salary structure, the state is in full practice of the new salary scale, the issue of pension and gratuity are ongoing, the records are there, the issue of employment is also ongoing, we are fulfilling our part of the bargain to take care of the workers".

Governor Fubara also stated that the Rivers State Secretariat Complex is undergoing reformation as challenges of water supply, security, power supply and other essential services are being tackled to enhance the productivity of workers.

Fubara further assured of providing a conducive working environment for both the public and private sectors of the state economy and urged the organised labour to work in synergy with the government to move the state forward.

He hinted that the confrontational approach of the previous leadership of NLC in Rivers State stalled the smooth resolution of issues regarding the welfare of workers, such as promotions, pensions and gratuities, but that is now a thing of the past.

The governor appealed to the leadership of the Union to always embrace peace and dialogue and urged them to be constructive in matters of policy as well as to make the state better.

"It's very important for labour to have a good relationship with any administration, labour can't work in isolation; it's important for the present leadership of NLC in Rivers State to work with our government".

Sir Fubara assured the Union of his collaboration in a bid to move the state forward and promised to look into the request of rehabilitating the Union's office.

Earlier in his address, the Chairperson of NLC in Rivers State, Comrade Alex Agwanwor, who led the delegation on the solidarity visit said the visit was to congratulate the governor and pledge their unflinching support to his administration.

The NLC chairman said the organised labour in Rivers State is proud of the emergence of Fubara, a technocrat and career Civil Servant as Governor of Rivers State.

Agwanwor urged the governor to create a sustainable avenue for labour and government to always discuss issues that will enhance industrial harmony in the state.

He said, "The Rivers State Governor is conversant with challenges of the public service, we want to appeal, that a regular interface be sustained between government and labour to foster industrial harmony and development in Rivers State.

Yes, UBE have issue appointment letter to the successful candidates yesterday.
Don't worry, they did not and will not meet in level 8.
Except you did not partake in the promotion exercise. If you do, be rest assured that your level has changed.
They await posting, which in my opinion may come on resumption BUT don't take my opinion to the bank.
Better are ahead.

Exam, NO!
They ask all those that apply to report at the board HQ for screening/interview. They attend to some persons on day 1, dispatch the rest and ask them to return the next day.
From then, it's VOILA!!!

1. Rmafc did not increase rather they proposed a 114% increase for all elected officials n their s.a including all judges.
2. The last review was in 2007, which has span the last 16/17 years.
3. It will only become a law after consideration by state assemblies and the national assembly. With a 2/3 vote of states n members of the Nass.
Could it been due for review, yes.
But in the light of the current hardship arißing from current reality, no people oriented government should do that.
As people speak against it, I hope it does not see the light at the end.

A zonal director and her team of supervisors came to our school yesterday. After the normal ritual of supervision has ended, we asked questions on payment. She said, it has never happened that payment will come before promotion letter. That we ought to receive our letters before payment. That currently, our letters are been typed to the best of her knowledge.

Me,..... Let protocols change for our good. Am tired of this and that thing ooo.

Pls who has anything different, or has someone at board, pls let's know the latest.

So

You have heard the truth yet you chose to still look for a lie to believe. No newsalary without promotional letters ok! Those people peddling fake news about new salary being paid should stop it now!

It is because of certain people here who love to peddle fake information and complete lies for their pleasure, when they call them out to explain they begin to curse... We have been repeatedly told that without promotion letters no increment will be made, yet knowing this fact fake people with their fake information will come and post otherwise.
This nonsense must stop

Until I see my salary, I believe everything is possible. There is nothing our God cannot do. If the pay the old one na my money, if the new one enter too, na still my money. So I patiently wait for my salary alert to tell me the final truth. Is a 50:50 chance.

I have a suggestion. I think what will should begin to do now, is to air our annoyance about the promotion, and the challenges we are facing base on current realities of today and the meagre salary we are receiving. It has been 10yrs of stagnation, no promotion, no increment.
I believe sim and other top government officials in R/s are on twitter, instagram etc... By the time will tag Rivers state labour, Trcn, sim, fg, etc, and it keep trending, calling in to every available radio program in the state complaining bitterly, they will know we are serious. Something will be gone, those who can make topic to trend should help. we can share the link, to others to comment, and also sign online petition. I believe attention will be drawn to us, we have kept mute for so long, who is in for this?

LEADERSHIP, RMAFC Public Relations Officer, Christian Nwachukwu, said President Bola Tinubu has not given approval for the increment of salaries of public servants.

“No approval yet. There is no approval yet. I don’t know the source of that story. Everything is under the process. It has to come as a Bill for Mr President to assent.

“The President has not given assent. Until the President gives assent, you cannot take it as if it has taken effect. You know that. You are a journalist.

If we can get a popular newspaper to publish topic like:
'' Rivers Teachers bemoan lack of promotion, 10 years since employment"

Then also get a popular investigative journalist like Hundeyin David, to publish it on his social media handle, like he carried out some sort of investigations to find out about the plight of Rivers teachers.

Just my loud thought. But could be made to happen

For me, I don't think nairaland is a fertile ground to discuss the seed to be sure, as it is a public domain which is accessible to those outside Rivers State, Rivers teachers echeters echeters.
First thing we should do, is to think of the best platform/forum to harness the different opinions.

You are right tho. However, we need to take action urgently, if we can get a platform to converge and discuss the way forward. It demands sacrifices. Some of us should be willing to put their job on the line and take up this fight to put an abrupt end to this oppression and subjugation of teachers
