thesicilian:Why don't govt also make necessary sacrifice like we citizens do? Why can't govt cut their spendings like those huge allowances they get for doing absolute nothing? Imagine someone who spends more than 500m in an election, govt still career for his feeding, housing and furniture needs.... What sort of rubbish is that? Even the fuel they move about with, na govt dey pay, so they are not affected by either subsidy removal or forex disparity... 2 Likes |

WorldRichest: You see how senseless you are. International students are tge I especially paying high tuition abroad. Citizens pay extremely low tuition |

Ruggedniggaone: Don't mind the guy you quoted. International students are tge ones that pay high tuition abroad. Their citizens tuition is extremely low and they have easy payment plans for the citizens. They use international tuition to fund the education of their citizens. Why can't Nigeria think of ways to generate funds to help the people. We have all the natural resources we can even sell since the leaders are too lazy to convert tge resources to finished goods. Rather they let bandits and Chinese steal all the zamfara gold and other resources available. 4 Likes |

clockwisereport: Private uni degrees no get weight inside and outside Nigeria... Imagine people asking you which uni is that? Outside Nigeria they rate private unis below Public uni. You can go to Australian Visa site to confirm this. Private degrees have a lower score, public degrees have a higher score.. No waste your money. |

anonymous1759:Why do need NLC to force them to go under minimum wage. As Bat is cutting everything from the poor let him also cut from the rich. NASS that just got 25b naira for housing whatever. You guys make me laugh sometimes. Brace up man economic tsunami is coming |

LikeAking: Dey there. University degree is University degree. All those bragging rights end after school. Have you ever asked your doctor the school he/she graduated from. A medical doctor that graduater from Baze University can take the place of a doctor that graduated from FUTO or ESUT or UI. Computer science graduates from Babcock can do what a CS graduate from UNN can do, and even better. UK will rush your nursing science graduates whether they attended private/public uni. A law graduate from MKAR will get a job before you if he gets a strong connection |

Re: Tinubu Effect: School Fees For A Federal University Now 200k Plus by ChiefS(m): 3:55pm On Jun 21, 2023 |
Is BAT going to import new lecturers from the moon? Will the laboratories suddenly become functional overnight? When tuition fees have not yet been introduced, the school fees are already N200,000. What happens when students have to pay tuition fees? Some private universities will be cheaper than some Federal Universities due to over bloated workforce particularly non-academic staff in Federal Universities and massive corruption in the system. This your propaganda is unnecessary. The politicians who enjoyed free education have stolen the nation blind and now claim that government cannot fund education. There should be minimal increase in school fees not more than N100,000 based on present economic realities for running of universities but salaries should be borne by government. anonymous1759: |

SpatialKing: Prior to 2012 how many people knew about subsidy ? One thing I notice about the government they don’t communicate properly . GEJ didn’t do much campaign on subsidy before removing it . I still blame him as the GCFR he’s the controller and anything is says it’s final if he knew that subsidy was the best option for Nigeria he would’ve done it despite the protest. Look at how BAT is stopping NLC from strikes with court injunctions that’s how a leader acts. When fashola was destroying oshodi wasn’t they noise and resistance? as at then people preferred BAT to come back as the governor and insults Fashola but today the same will tell you fashola did better than Tinunu that he cleaned up the Lagos , the same Oshodi they were insulting him about. The end Justify the means . As a leader you can’t please everyone , you must step on toes the ability to look at all that and still perform makes you stand out . If a president can’t withstand a small protest he was never fit to be a president . Assad of Syria and Maduro of Venezuela endured pressure from the west for years and you’re here justifying a president that succumb to a mere protest because he’s making a drastic decision. If he’d removed the subsidy and things are better now Nigerians will still praise him that’s human nature for us. |

KingAzubuike: what i want to say will base on if that report on loan is hard to get i am a supporter of tinubu, even if u dont like tinubu i always say hate the office but dont hate the person i know this is too much for student, i too wont br happy if i am in school and i am told to pay close to 200k but laon be assesible, see bro obi wont have done any miracle if he is president so do attack office not the person we cant say we won become usa and things wont increase, if loan is not assesible then tinubu Bleep up... it is well |

a4cube: Does BAT have the powers to cut down the allowance of the NASS and the governors ? is another question. The problem is who introduced this jumbo pay to the NASS at first . Only NLC , TUC and the public can pressure them to review their salaries those men ain’t ready . When we won’t things to go our way we urge the president to be autocratic but few days ago people were saying the executive shouldn’t interfere with the NASS elections that they’re independent. The public is also part of the government. The youth and civil society can do a twitter campaign to pressure them to cut government cost. |

ChiefS: The politicians are not the only ones that enjoyed free education Every Nigerian student that got their BSc from inception till now enjoyed it . If federal universities becomes more expensive to private good for them they’ll lose student to the private sector but I doubt . If we won’t be sincere no country with a stable and standard education pays peanut as Nigeria “ better soup na money kill am” it’s not magic or rocket science. Power has improved in my area now drastically i don’t bother to charge my phone unlike before but I’m paying for it the subsidy is about to go off . If Phcn refuses to supply light they won’t be able to fund themselves automatically they’ll supply light so people will buy for them to survive. Unlike before wether they supply or not government will bankroll them . The only issue I’m having with BAT is to encourage the NASS, Judiciary and executive to cut the cost of governance let everyone feel it . The civil society should also step up campaign online I’ll support that one . If subsidy refuses to go for power and education it’ll continue to be epileptic . |
