Sadly, we will never see footballers of such natural and exceptional qualities anymore!!!

Football is just a money-making venture now! Where average footballers like Declan Rice, Mason Mount, Jack Grealish, etc, are valued at shocking and ridiculous amounts!

When I heard the amount West Ham is demanding for Declan Rice, I just shook my head in horror! If Arsenal or Man United pays such an amount for that guy, I will just accept that the English premier League is dead and gone! What nonsense!!! undecided

And that’s why Kanu is the greatest even with the weak heart.
Kanu had end product. That's why he was rated better. Okocha had all the skills, flair and tricks but many still preferred kanu.

With all the skills okocha had will you pick him above xavi or Kevin de bruyne? No. End product is the key here.

You people keep saying this whereas to be honest okocha style of play no dey get end product. Football is not just about showboating and making a mockery of your opponent with unnecessary skills. You're just entertaining the crowd. If you wan do that one go play street football.
That's what made someone like Ronaldinho different. He dey showboat but at least he get end product. Why do you think no big club came for okocha? Coz they don't need all those pranks and showboating e dey do for field. Weytin they wan use am do ? Are you here to entertain the crowd and viewers watching on TV or you're here to give the club victory.

Sentiments won't let them understand this.
I laugh when people compare Ronaldiho with Okocha. A whole Ronaldiho o!

The guy was just average to be honest. Many players could do some of those tricks he did but they never needed it. Most especially the samba boys coz many of them blew from street football.
At a point fifa even banned many of those nonsense on the pitch. That's why you don't see too many showboating in football anymore, it's a yellow card offence. Person go raise ball hide am inside cloth run half the pitch or he go nod ball with head from one half to another . Fifa banned most of those nonsense.

The era of the classic central attacking midfield playmaker is over. In those days, only the best wore 10.

1. Ronaldinho 🤗
2. Zinedine Zidane
3. Rui Costa
4. Jay Jay Okocha
5. Diego Maradona
6. Pablo Aimar
7. Michel Platini
8. Dennis Bergkamp
9. Mesut Ozil (eye of the gods)
10. Riquelme
11. Lionel Messi
12. Rivaldo

Cesc Fabregas & Xavi no wear 10. But they are both genius in the attacking midfield with precision pass(perfect pass)

Okocha peaked at a time there were exceptionally great players who can not be ignored and they were winning trophies too and he was not winning anything big at his club. His inability to get a good scout to make him play for great clubs like Madrid, Barca or Milan really diminished his prospect of maybe winning a Ballon D'Or. If Okocha played at his peak in a year like 1992/93 where the likes of average players like Pierre Papin won the WPOY then Okocha would have stood a better chance. Same goes for Samuel Eto'o - he peaked at a time Ronaldinho was playing crazy football and like out of this world - in speed, dribbling, precision goal scoring and assists... and immediately came Messi - who did same and he was younger and that ended it for Eto'o - his exploits got eclipsed finally. If Eto'o of 2006-2010 was available in year 2000 - 2004, surely we would have won the Ballon D'Or probably twice. So I really do not see racism here. George Weah was very lucky to have peaked at a time most players looked very average- Roberto Baggio who was the exceptional player at that time was down with injuries, and Romario was not in form - that was why Weah won the Ballon D'Or.
