Assets, that like is very tricky, if you had filled anything in, it would having open up places where you indicate numbers. And then on and on. You said you left it blank. Please be prepared to cover up or provide a desirable answer during your interview if it comes up. What the VO is expecting is for you not to be doing anything here at that time. Even if your petitioner is send you money, you still have to have your own stuff going on. For me, my wife do support ( with evidence) but we have other things going on that I can't say here. You need to be ready to say what you are doing.

Honestly, mine is spousal. I believe there is a poverty line for all I130 applicants. That is why i will agree with visa journey contributors. My wife who happen to be my petitioner passed the required line. Since you say you are fiance category, i will advise you seek more answers on this platform.

Adaobi, you don’t have to worry too much about beneficiary declaration of assets.
The K1 is solely on the OP’s financial strength (based on the federal government poverty guidelines and numbers of household) so if you have assets or you don’t have as a beneficiary it won’t have any unfavorable effect on your interview or visa approval. If you have just write it on the form and the worth even if it is a car, coz I only listed my car and its worth during my time. Just don’t list what you don’t have.

Also, I have a question 😊 Is it possible I fly in to US from another country different from the country where the visa was issued? Or is it a must I travel from the country where the visa was issued? The reason I am asking is because I plan to travel to country A for vacation and from there I plan on traveling to the US.

Will they send a mail to the mailing address or just an email to acknowledge receipt and how long after the submission should we expect email or mail from them confirming the receipt?

If it shows transit, it means it is on the way, and if it shows ready, it means it is already at the embassy. When it shows ready, you can go ahead and fill the ds160 form and pay the fee. You can also email NVC to follow up with your application by using this public inquiry form, they are always responsive. I have tried it and they always respond to me. I think you will be notified upon receiving your mail and a receipt number will be given to you which you'll use in checking on your case status.

Yes it would be nice for you to meet again in Canada before embassy and come back home to have your interview. You could also have your interview in Canada since you have a good visa status but looks like you wanna have it in Nigeria which is also fine. So you’re good.

Airboy abeg my question is in regards to the Cr1 fiancee visa, I can't find the thread, so I'm seeking anyone with meaningful info regarding CR1

1. As much as your case has been forwarded to the embassy then it is a YES for you to go ahead with those steps and wait to have your medicals done 5/6 weeks before your appointment at the embassy.

For the letter stating you and your petitioner should upload documents have not seen that before except for CR1/IR1 so there’s a mix up somewhere just check well.

2. You don’t need invoice number just your case number starting with LGS then you are good.

3. Check the ceac platform and if your case status shows “Ready” do not wait for embassy to reach out to you before you create cgi account and look for date and prepare for your interview.

4. You do not need proof of self-sufficient, this petition is primarily on the petitioner, his/her financial capability and records plays the major and significant role here. So since she makes enough money safe yourself the stress of giving too much information that would be insignificant to the process.

5. If your case shows READY on the ceac feel free to do the police certificate but wait to do your medicals some weeks to your appointment probably 5/6 weeks.
