'once one tastes from the forbidden fruit, it's hard to resist it'

I summoned courage to go for an HIV test yesterday. As I boarded a bike to the health centre, I had zeroed my mind to prepare for the worst.

I got to the place, alighted and paid the bike fare. On entering the secluded HIV Test registration centre, I noticed prying eyes like 'you have done bad abi'. One of the health practitioners there even recognised my coming for the test three months ago

After registering me, I was counselled non stop by the Mountain of Fire officer on the need to reconnect with God. At that point, I was ready to go back to church. I later proceeded for the test and was asked to check back in 30 minutes.

During that time, so many things crossed my mind. If it was negative, I promised never to fvck Olosho again. If positive, I was prepared to start taking antiretroviral drugs to live longer. Surprisingly, I was HIV negative. I was excited. I was asked to come for another test in 3 months time

Immediately I came out, I forgot all my promises. The small 3000 naira I had planned to manage till my next pay from ribdo.com, I used 2000 naira to lash one tall Chubby Olosho on my way home from work. yea. Living by Grace. Probably fortunate that those I knacked are yet to be infected. My only worry now is the mouth action I did still giving my body discomfort

As for quitting, it's not easy o. Once in a while, one needs that spark to regulate the body. Maybe a companion will help if I can afford one

As for going to church, I will try tomorrow. Only if men of God keep to time. Too many offerings and Thanksgiving

It requires a great deal of determination and grace...
