Tochukwu Nnadi from Ihiagwa in imo state? Wow never knew, thought he was from Enugu state

Ever come across any Enugu man bearing Nnadi as a surname? Nnadi is predominantly an old Imo surname.

Old Imo comprises Abia and present day Imo State.

Ndi Enugu do not say Nwa Nnadi as you always say here most times.

šŸšØ Brighton are close to finalising the signing of Super Eagles Defender Calvin Bassey for ā‚¬15-20m. There is optimism from all parties that the deal could be completed in the next hours.

Good Move For Bassey?

because it didnā€™t work out for him at Ajax?

Na una go condemn quality but hype trash.

That Ajax team is toxic and the media in Holland havenā€™t been nice to the guy judging by the fact that he is in heā€™s first season with them

New country, league and style of play but you forget that it takes some players time to adapt to a new league and system

Letting him go after one season is one big mistake I knw Ajax will regret. Bassey is fast, robust and good on the ball so I believe that De Zerbi will bring out the best in him at Brighton if the deal goes through

Bassey has the qualities and in the right age to turn out to be a monstrous CB/LB in the nearest future

A very good move. I like the Brighton project
he will do well in the team and with De Zerbi he will improve a whole lot

The whole ajax team last season was in shambles but all the blame was on him. Even overrated Timber was shit and their midfield and attack were blunt

Aside kudus who blew hot and cold last season no other ajax player performed very well to their standard

The reason why PSV and Feyenord dominated them easily last season
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by charlesemeka85(m): 7:09pm On Jul 03, 2023
Timber will be massively exposed if he moves to arsenal

one player I prayed that Ten Hag didnā€™t bring to man united instead brought Lisandro Martinez who wasnā€™t really in the picture and on the verge of joining arsenal before Ten Hag gave him a call

Martinez was the reason ajax had a good defensive shift the season they won the league before united signed Ten Hag but all the praise went to Timber

The Dutch are like the English, they over hype their own

Listen, when profiling a player, look beyond nationality if you can, possibly remove all personal bias.
Bassey has a decent profile, in terms of age and position CB/LB. Beyond that, he is found wanting in very key areas. He lacks discipline and his technique is very suspect. Ajax got him to replace Martinez and you can see the drop off in quality.
You must be one of the jokers who thought Okoye was going to be decent at Watford because he's Nigerian.. Lol

Ur second paragraph summarizes basseyā€¦he lacks discipline and his technique off and on d ball is suspect, hence leading to one or two schoolboy errors during d game

My heart palpitate whenever I c him start as a cb for us,baba go sha commit one unnecessary mistake, even at d lb I still prefer dt Porto guy to him but if he can calm his nerves and play maturely he would b a great asset.

Abuja doesn't look like it's serious about having a club in the league yet.. Wasn't Giwa FC based in Abuja before they were banished from the league?

You must be one of the jokers who thought Okoye was going to be decent at Watford because he's Nigerian.. Lol
and do I seem like one who hype players unnecessarily? Bassey did enough to merit heā€™s move to ajax just that it didnā€™t work out as expected

You fail to put into consideration that it takes some players time to adapt to new environment while others adapts faster

I am a kin follower of Ajax and watch their matches via espn and I must tell you that Ajax team of last season was trash. No player was exceptional unless maybe kudus to an extend

Bassey from the games I saw him play for Ajax wasnā€™t as bad as the Dutch media painted him maybe because of the price they bought him. I believe u saw him against Liverpool and Napoli in the ucl

Also for De Zerbi to go for him it implies that he has potentials that still need to be worked on

Technique or whatsoever they are players that hv it in abundant as hyped here but still languishing in lower tier clubs with escape route very slim

As for Okoye he was among the top 5 goalies in the Dutch league for 2 seasons before he got signed by Watford. He earned heā€™s move to England. Okoye didnā€™t earn the move because of his Caucasian mother but because he worked hard for it

So carry your bias mentality shift
