We ain't serious in this country at all.. Since 1960 gained of her independence.. Same crap of shits... A country cannot grow without the proper place of the manufacturing /industrial sector... FACT! And those at the upper/lower chambers are just there sitting in gathering of crooks saying that they are representatives of the people.. JOKERS 😠Perhaps, the country is not even meant for any improvement in the first place.. Very pathetic 😔 |

nairalanda1: And do you know the damage removing it has caused too ? Oga, without a cushion , it's a death knell. As they removed subsidy, how much has been saved and what was it used for specifically? Are Tinubu and co suffering with you? They just increased their own salaries and you are here saying subsidy did this and that. How is that they removed funding for most institutions and still removed subsidy , so the FG shed all responsibilities and decided to increase their own salaries and car fleets. Senseless 1 Like |

Cancelation of middle class in earnest. At the end we might be left with the very rich and the very poor, who by themselves can no longer afford the basic necessities of life. 1 Like |

nairalanda1:Subsidy removal was not planned, it was abrupt and you know it. Maybe Atiku or Obi would have approached it differently. Talk about having a functional govt- owned refinary, ot having significantly improved power supply before subsidy removal. |

Johans2023: This is wrong. The United Kingdom is an oil and gas producing country though production has been steadily declining since the peaks of the 80's. But as a top 10 economy it consumes all that it extracts and requires North Sea oil from Scandinavia to meet the huge deficit. If Nigeria could raise its levels of industrialization, grow its economy and prosper its citizens we will become a net importer of energy products just like Indonesia did and left OPEC as a result. There is no pride in continuing to export primary resources. It smacks of under development. I was telling someone the other day to his surprise that the United States is the largest oil producer in the world yet it imports oil. |

nairalanda1: But let’s be frank, what other benefit do we as individuals benefit directly from the government generally? Is there free health care? No Basic amenities? Steady electricity? Good roads? Security? Unemployment rate is over 40% . How are we going to afford the said fuel? Don’t you think there is a problem? What exactly do we benefit? The only visible and significant benefit we get from our government has been removed and people are applauding? |

shortgun: Di you know all the economies you listed above are all in very bad shape or aren't doing well. Any country that subsidies fuel isn't well run and such subsidies harm it. Subsidies of that sort encourage overconsumption and not production. Such subsidies leave a big hole in the government purse which would have to be filled with government borrowing or the neglect of other sectors of the economy. 2 Likes 1 Share |
