Which hospital in Birmingham pls? I have worked in the 3 hospitals in Birmingham and they always refuse to sponsor

Also what do you mean by maintenence is was not ticked?

During the visa/COS process, there is an option for the employer to tick that they will be providing maintenance fund for the employee. Which means the employee don't need to show proof of fund during the visa application process.

I have a provisional license and I have been in the Uk for 5 months. Is it advisable to keep driving with my Nigerian license while I get prepared to get my uk driving license.

Yes, you’ve got no issue, once had a stop over by police and they were confused on whether my provisional licence then superseded my Nigeria licence while still within the 1 year limit, they had to make lots is calls and at the end I was told I’m allowed to drive.

Note: the stop over ain’t because of licence, it’s another issue entirely, but to rectify the issue they had to verify my licence first

I don't understand what you guys meant by get other visas?

Having other visas (which in most cases are visit visa) will not save anyone from the UK immigration wahala if the time comes. You can't use those visas to immigrate or even work on those visas. I have a long-term US visa and Schegen visa (Swiss issued) yet they are absolutely useless for immigration

Except you plan to travel and then turn illegal immigrant.

Not your decision to make for others choice.

Please treat as urgent !!!

I have been offered a one year COS for a care job. I will like to know if there is anything like one year tier2 visa. My fear comes from the fact that every COS I’ve been told about is either 3 or 5years.

Can I use it the one year COS for my visa application.

Please help me!

Yes. It’s completely valid.

Employers can issue COS from 1 - 5 years max, and your application will match that same timeline.

No issues with it if it matches your plan.

Not my decision to make How? I can't remember making any decision at any point in my message.

I only asked a question, to see if I'm missing anything. Cause I don't understand how having a 5 years US B1-B2 visa or a 1year Schengen multiple entry visa is a backup to UK residency visa incase the UK Bleep up.
Even with a 5year US visa the maximum you can stay with each visit is 6months and for Schengen territory it's 3months, and you are not permitted to work or take up paid employment during the visit.

To be realistic there is so much that should be left unsaid plus Immigration didn't start today and all.

People who are hunting for a US visit visa know what they want and I think it's better we mind our businesses and let them make whatever decisions they want. All I'll say will be for everyone should keep hopes high be realistic and not too selfish.

Yes. Age of account doesn't matter.

You just need to fulfill whatever conditions they've set - in terms of a deposit, direct debits and debit card transactions.

Do bear in mind that each switch affects the average length of your banking relationships, which is a factor (albeit minor) that affects your credit file.

It's usually recommended to pause bank switches in the year or several months approaching a major credit application like a mortgage.

Their wahala too much

----
New customers will receive £125 if they open an account and then switch to TSB using the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) before 31 August 2023.

They will also need to set up at least two direct debits, use their debit card at least once and log into the TSB mobile banking app to get the first instalment paid into their account.

A further £75 will be paid into their account by 31 March 2024 if they keep their account open and each month pay in at least £500, make five debit card payments and have two direct debits.

It never gets better in Nigeria is what the country taught me over time (although I'm praying it does so I can go back)

I was doing patriotic citizen when my friends were leaving in 2007/2008 but I learnt the hard way

Nigeria is the only country I know in the world where the past is always better than the future

I hope things get better but the same issues we had 15 years ago are still the same ones today

It is well Sha

The problem with some of us is perspective, while some of us are very open-minded using the opportunity as legal UK residents to open doors for ourselves to other Western nations. For your info, some of these other nations are becoming more dynamic in their visa offerings as they now allow you to switch visitor visas to work visas if you get a job offer there. For example, if I work with one of the big four in the UK or any other large orgnisation, I can apply for jobs in Canada with one of the large organisations, with my Canada visitor visa, the organisation already sees me as a serious person cos they know with that visitor visa I have, easily they can switch me to a work visa ( this is valid till 2025). Even the US announce such earlier in the year when thousands were losing jobs and had the scare of leaving the country since their work visas were tied to the company they were fired from. Even Germany is going the same route so you see times indeed are changing and that's the perspective some of us are seeing things from.

Would need advice
Currently on Graduate visa (expires jan 2025)

Got two analyst role
1. One in Scotland (25k annually) 1-year contract, full-time. Obviously no sponsorship.

2. In London (28k annually) permanent, full-time, with sponsorship

Note:
Both are hybrid (1-2days office)
Been living in Scotland right from day one in Uk.

Just relocate to London temporarily and get your sponsorship, once you switch your visa after one year, start looking for roles according to your desired location that will offer sponsorship too, it's easier for companies to switch you from one tier 2 to another especially if it's the same occupation code as it cost them far less. Hope this helps

Please do i need to also read the highway code and road signs, or its only the theory and hazard that is important.

Do they also ask for highway code and road sign in the computer test?

Out of curiosity, if you have been in the UK for 5 months, how did you get provisional license. To the best of my knowledge, you are meant to apply for your provisional license only if you have lived in the UK for at least six months. Just asking.
