paystub, or payslip, or pay record, or paycheck given to employees when they are paid their salaries. It is common in the UK for an employee to be given payslips. Some companies do give in Nigeria. I submitted 4 of them

Congratulations, please what d you mean by 4 month pay slip

A few questions to ask; You have stated she is an integral part of the landlord association. so is she a homeowner? If yes, you can evidence this with property details.

Secondly, are you gonna be responding for her accommodation only?

Lastly, did your brother fund any part of your schooling or upkeep?

Overall, I think your brother in US should provide a supporting letter to state he would be responsible for her travel (visa application fees and flight ticket) and miscellaneous expenses during her 10 day visit for your graduation. He should also state the amount he will support her with and can also include a statement that he already made some transfer to her account for her trip. It might also help to include his bio data page of his passport as well as yours.

Thank you for your reply
Yes she’s a home owner. How do you think she can prove this
I’ll be responsible for her accommodation only
My brother did fund part of my school fees and upkeep

To answer your question directly- Yes you can have a 1 year COS.
There is no fixed length for COS, it is rather dependent on the length of your contract. So bear in mind you will need a renewal of your work visa (ie new contract/COS) on or before the current one you will receive expires

Thank you so much!!!

Budget is 5k pounds ke? How many days are you staying and are you travelling with family? I honestly think you should budget 2500-3000 max and reduce number of days you’re staying if you are a single applicant. Remember UKVI doesn’t know where you would eventually be flying from and if you have a discounted ticket so just because websites say tickets may cost you 1500/2000 isn’t enough to quote that as your flight budget. Even though the budget seems okay compared to your DI and monthly income, I still believe you should revise downwards.

I plan to stay for 17days and the 5k GBP is the total budget for the trip including my flight tickets.

I’m applying from Nigeria and I will also be traveling alone

Guys, please who is the invitation letter and other letters typically addressed to? I've seen these two addressees, which of the following is correct?

UK Visa and Immigration
Entry Clearance Officer
Lagos, Nigeria.

Deputy High Commission
British Embassy
11 Walter Carrington Crescent
Victoria Island
Lagos
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Opeyemi007: 11:04am On Jul 11, 2023
You should try reducing the days and the budget. When you get your visa, you can decide to spend twenty days or more, it shouldn't be a problem. £5k would be deemed too much for a three-week visit unless you earn more than that monthly, and probably have a shitload amount of verifiable funds in your account.

Thanks for the response. I intend to get an introductory letter from my employer and have them also confirm my vacation date. If I should reduce the number of days, won’t this raise any brows on how I intend to spend the remaining number of days. I can reduce the budget to 3.5k GBP

Talking about verifiable funds. I intend to only provide my dom account since that’s where I receive my salary. I also have a normal account but it has a lot of inflows and outflows so I intend to put that away. Is that a wise thing to do?

Why is this a problem if you budget more than you actually spend? I know someone who has recently applied and budgeted same amount for a month visit visa application?
Also is the UKVi usually inclined to approve shorter visit visas (say 1 to 2 weeks) than longer ones (1 month)?

pls stick to 2ce ur disposable income if u can
3.5k pounds for holiday. They do not like this in most cases and feel you are being ingenious

I am not sure I get you. Twice of my disposable income is about 8k(income after tax). Or do you mean twice of what I spend monthly which should be about 3k

they believe no ‘genuine’ person will spend up more than 2 to 3 times of their monthly allowance on a trip of one week.

I certainly agree. What if however, you application is for a month?
Also do you mind confirming the addressee for letters of invitation, introduction, etc? Which of the following should it be please?

Deputy High Commission
British Embassy
11 Walter Carrington Crescent
Victoria Island
Lagos

UK Visa and Immigration
Entry Clearance Officer
Lagos, Nigeria.

She can show her house documents, utility bill energy bill to prove her home ownership.
You will need your rental or accommodation letter/agreement
Because your brother funded part of your fees and upkeep, it further supports that: 1. He has some commitment to sponsoring your education as well as your upcoming graduation. 2. He has capacity with evidence to fund your mum.
Your mum’s application looks good to be honest.

Lawunmi11:

Thank you for your reply
Yes she’s a home owner. How do you think she can prove this
I’ll be responsible for her accommodation only
My brother did fund part of my school fees and upkeep

Yes. Standard visitor visa.
You’re welcome.

Either address works tbh, it’s immaterial.

Truth is if you’re employed/own a business in Nigeria and have only tourist intentions, stating that you’d stay one month outside of the country raises eyebrows that are naturally already raised for Nigerian Visa applications in Nigeria from Nigerian only Citizens (i.e you don’t have citizenship or PR of another country). I hope you understand. Nobody is saying you can’t stay there for one month after getting the visa but like I have said before, the visa scrutiny rule is “guilty until proven innocent”. Long stays, “crazy trip budgets” are indicative of someone who has more interest in the uk than their home country. A red flag. Do with this what you will.

Pls oga reduce the trip duration. You are touristing for one month? Hope you have also visited other locations like this? Easy way to get the intention of your trip doubted. Except you are going to see ur child or siblings I would not advise such to b filled on the form

Hi all…just to share something. My daughter’s birthday is in a month time and we already got visa to spend the entire period in Uk but now we decided to take 2 of her best friends on the trip. I applied for Uk visas for the 2 kids (both 8yrs old).
I am the sponsor so submitted:
my employment letter
payslip
account statement
Booked flights and hotels for the trip.
Visa data page (I and my kids all have 10yrs Uk visa)
Pictures of my daughter with her best friends from when they were 3yrs old till now they’re 8 (sleepovers, Christmas family group pictures)

From their parents:
authorization letter
copies of parents passports
kids birth certificates

Only mistake i made was not submitting the school documents of the girls (like fees payment or report sheet) as I always do for my own kids.
I also realized we should have submitted their parents bank statements showing they’re also capable of funding the trip. I really hope this won’t affect their chances of getting visas.
One of the kids had been denied Uk visa before but while filling the application, I surprisingly didn’t see the space where they ask if you have ever been denied visa before? (Has anyone noticed this?)

They both did biometrics on friday 7th July and e-mail came today that it’s has been received at the decision making office.
We are all so anxious 😬
Will keep you all updated
Ps: the authorization letter from parents were court certified

Wow!!! I didn’t even that’s possible. Why is ukvi now giving me a hard time to take my own one year old kid with me,(I got a work visa) just because the father isn’t interested in quitting his Well paid job to relocate. These people and their wahala is just ridiculous

Ours is just a 9 days visit.
We are still waiting sha so let’s hope the girls gets it.
Did you add marriage certificate to your child’s own? I understand it can help with such. Did your husband write a consent letter approving for your son to be issued a visa to join you?

Yes we added all that and still got an NSF mail requesting that father should Either
1) apply to relocate with us
2) give me sole custody or
3) we provide serious and compelling reasons why the ECO should grant the baby entry clearance.
It sounds ment to me; why should a man be compelled to sign away his parental right?! Are they that used to deadbeat fathers? If u click on my moniker ul see where I attached the email I received from them
