Hey Deltamani & BascoVanVeli

Are you guys following the NWFL championship currently going on in Sagamu and Ikenne? I'm pretty excited with what I am seeing. Can't speak to the talent pool available, but the fact that 95% of the girls participating looks very young is something to be excited about. Coach Olowookere is also there scouting for the next u17 squad, just shows how young the squad is.

Learnt there are injury concerns in camp. How true? Colin Udodi implied this in his space yesterday, though he didn't mention names.

House invites NFF over Falcons’ unpaid allowances, planned protest
Super Falcons

The House of Representatives on Wednesday invited the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) to appear before it on Thursday over issues surrounding the protest by Super Falcons ahead of the female world cup which begins next week.
The House also asked the NFF to immediately pay outstanding match bonuses and allowances to the Super Falcons.
In a resolution at plenary following a motion by Hon. Olumide Osoba, the House said it will set up an Ad-hoc Committee to investigate the dispute between the Super Falcons and the NFF and propose necessary reforms to prevent the planned protest and boycott of the Nigeria Female Football team at the Women’s World Cup also to prevent future occurrences.
He expressed concerns over the potential embarrassment and negative impact on the nation’s reputation if the planned protest and boycott are allowed to go ahead without intervention as witnessed in previous incidents involving the Nigerian women’s basketball team.

He said: “The Super Falcons have threatened to boycott their opening game on July 21, resulting in potential embarrassment for the government and jeopardizing Nigeria’s participation in the tournament

That's why it may not be such a good idea to play many friendlies before a major competition.
This lady is by far their best keeper and this is a monumental loss for Zambia.
The medical report is she tore both her ACL and MCL. She is probably out for a year and may also miss the WAFCON and Olympics qualifiers

🚨 Alexia Putellas has been training apart from the Spanish national team group for days due to some discomfort.

Nah that ACL injury might ruined her remaining few years 💔, Or she was never fully healed, seeing that she forced herself to come back earlier just in time for UWCL final and subsequently the world cup. She's playing Russian roulette with her career honestly. ACL is a good 1years + of recovery…. I feel like they rushed her Back!

I don't think they did. I think she did herself. You'll notice that Jonathan didn't even play her for a long time even though she returned and when he died play her it was towards the end of the game. I didn't understand then, but now I do.

Asisat for instance could have played the final despite the discomfort that she had, but she could also have aggravated the hamstring so it was wise to keep her out entirely. Still not sure she's fully fit as it appears she's still being managed.

Super Falcons Coach, Randy Waldrum has said his team are really working hard and confident ahead of the World Cup opener against Canada on Friday, July 21st.

In an exclusive interview, the American tactician admitted that advancing past the group stage will be tough, but he is confident with the quality of talents in the squad.

“It’s been very good so far, the players are working really hard and the talent level is good,” He said.

“We are confident ahead of our games and if we can get the team organised, the way we want them, especially in the defense, we would have every opportunity to be successful.

“I believe in these players and the next ten days will shape up the team for the great assignment ahead.

“I am confident we can go past the group stage, as all the focus is now on Canada. We know how important the first game is going to be for us. We need to get something out of it, we have to definitely start well.” He concluded.

Megan Rapino is on crack. Talking about people never cared about women's sports so they shouldn't have an opinion on men playing with women. Then she had the nerves to diss Dave Chappelle. A lot of people are now saying they hope USA crash out the competition.

Typical American liberalism.

How exactly does advocating for biological men in women's sports a hill to die on? And she chose to time her retirement to the beginning of her advocacy. It reminds me of a video I watched earlier today, one of the advocates was asked if Floyd Mayweather starts identifying as a woman and choses to fight professional as same, should hebe allowed? The liberal dunce said Yes.

U called it perfectly. She is trying to set herself up for retirement. U know those LMOPQ people will be happy with her digging at Chappelle.

Chappelle kukuma knows how to handle all those 'agendavists' and their clout chasing.

Always funny how the movement lately has been using Women's World Cup to always run LBGQT agenda.

FIFA Will Allow Barbra Banda To Captain Zambia At Women's World Cup 12 Months After She Failed WAFCON Gender Eligibility Tests

Barbra Banda will captain Zambia at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand this summer.

The 23-year-old forward has been cleared to represent her country at the tournament by FIFA, despite having been denied the chance to compete at last year's Women's Africa Cup of Nations after failing gender eligibility tests.

Banda, who plays her club soccer for Chinese side Shanghai Shengli, featured for Zambia at the Olympic Games in 2021 but failed to meet the required criteria to play at WAFCON 2022 due to her abnormally high levels of testosterone.

Speaking last year, Andrew Kamanga, the president of the Football Association of Zambia, told BBC Sport: "All the players had to undergo gender verification, a CAF (Confederation of African Football) requirement, and unfortunately she did not meet the criteria set by CAF.

"It's unfortunate that we find ourselves going into the tournament without our best players."

Without Banda, Zambia went on to finish third, after losing to eventual champions South Africa in the semi-finals.

Banda, who has scored 30 international goals since 2017, will be allowed to play at the World Cup because FIFA have permitted teams to undergo their own internal gender assessments.

German newspaper BILD last week published a statement from FIFA that read: "The World Cup participants assure that they carry out their own investigations and that they clearly show that their players are female."

Today's gender eligibility exams generally involve DNA or blood tests.

But before the 2011 Women's World Cup, players were required to have their Instruments identified by a FIFA-commissioned doctor. Former Sweden midfielder Nilla Fischer recently described the process in her new book, 'I Didn't Even Say Half Of It'.

Fischer called the procedure "sick and humiliating", adding: "We were told that we should not shave 'down there' in the coming days and that we will show our Instruments for the doctor.

"No one understands the thing about shaving but we do as we are told and think 'how did it get to this?'"

Banda scored two goals last Friday as Zambia beat Germany 3-2 in a warm-up game in Furth.
Zambia have been drawn in World Cup Group C alongside Costa Rica, Japan and Spain.

Coach Vera Pauw of 🇮🇪Ireland says Super Falcons will not be distracted by bonus payments row when the teams meet at the World Cup.

“They are our third game so they’ll be in full swing and I don’t think it affects them. I’ve coached in South Africa and, these issues are quite common,” she said on Independent.ie

“It doesn’t influence the players on the pitch at all. They are so used to these issues that they have to fight for themselves. So well done to them I will say.”
